Caveat! This tin is from 2008. I purchased it from Smoking Pipes dated 2009. Cracked the tin a few months ago. Let it sit a bit. Humidity was perfect. This is my first relaxing session with this blend at this age. The red Virginia is really shows forth . Perique has a perfect sweetness to it. At my age perique can be a bit overpowering for me. My taste has changed since then. Filmore! At 18 years , my have we grown up ! This smokes with a beautiful rich, plum, cherry sweetness. The depth is amazing. Definitely enjoy the Reds Virginia . I would recommend this to anyone who would like to try. I been getting 3 tins and smoke one now , smoke one in two years in five years. The difference can be quite interesting.

NOW THATS A GOOD CIGAR!
One fine cigar! Great construction, flavor builds as you go down to the end. It is the top of my budget, but it’s a fine cigar. I’ve had trouble with other brands of construction and draw. Drew states is done really well.

Good Full body cigar!
Full body cigar, I agree with Kim that has coffee in cedar notes. Mine was a bit hard to draw. Upon lighting the draw was on the tight side, 1/4 way in the drawer out a bit. It could’ve been better. I have a few more sticks to try. I’ll see if this is just a fluke. Nice relaxing cigar. First third was coffee, notes, and cedar. Second third was Coco dark chocolate smoke was thick very enjoyable. The burn was nice with the drawer was a little tight for my liking . The second third was dense bitter dark cocoa bar ; bitter and good way. The burn was good and the draw got better! Overall good cigar.

Anything that “Pepin” touches his golden. Here’s a smooth complex smoke at a great price. Start to finish excellent.. He’s one of my favorite blenders in the business. His blends just sing to my taste profile. Like a fine bartender or chef that makes a perfect cocktail or dish . Also pairs well with a wheat bourbon! Just fantastic.

Fantastic blend ! Enjoy this new (one available again!) But best with some age. I believe R.L.Will was the blender! Any Virginia blend that he’s done is extremely well done. I’m glad Smoking Pipes keeps a record of your purchases. Very helpful. This tin I am enjoying now came from 2010. Smokes like a dream.
