Cornell & Diehl - Midnight Orchard 2oz
So far so good. Enjoyable
I wouldn't call it an aromatic as much as I would say it seems like a pleasant smoke. So far I gave had 2 bowls. One out of a relatively new Meersham for initial tasting. And the other out of my seasoned briar. Both were good expierences. The tobacco burns well as of now. It has a pleasant sweeter flavor with what seems to be a very nice room note. It actually reminds me A LOT of "Fires on the Levee" which is also a very pleasant smoke. I picked up 4 cans and feel like this would be a nice addition if they every do it again.

On a whim
I had left my home one morning a few weeks back and left my pipe bag at the house, Completely not cool. However, I found an unlikely place later that morning that had a few tins of tobacco I could purchase. This was one of them. I had seen it mentioned a lot in the past but the perique stopped me as its often described as spicy. Now, I do like spicy foods, but not so much in my pipe. And, 25% seemed steep. I was happily suprised. This was amazing! I could not believe how enjoyable the very first bowl was. The flavor I have not nailed down yet, but as far as "Spicy" goes, it was NOT AT ALL what I was expecting. Not spicy in the heat way, but certinaly crisp to me. A very enjoyable and thoroughly pleasing aroma, as well and a great taste in the mouth. I had to come on here and order another 8 ounces because this one will be in my rotation. I'm constantly reminded on how many different expierences I can get from pipe tobacco. It really is a nice hobby that bring a lot of enjoyment. But, if you are on the fence about trying this because of the Perique-- give it a try. The flavor is nice, the aroma is nice, and all around, it is a fantastic tobacco. I am sure glad I picked it up that day.

Cornell & Diehl - Fires on the Levee 2oz
Really nice Blend
I wasn't sure what to expect from this blend however, I was pleasntly suprised as to how smooth and flavorful it was. It was one of a few blends that people immediately complimented the aroma on. It has a robust feel in the mouth without bite or heat. It is a quite cool blend. The overall expierence I have is very enjoyable. Honestly, I wasn't even sure I wanted this blend, but with a little extra christmas cash I thought, why not try it? And I am very glad I did!

A lot of complainers
Look, this page is not to aire out your frustration because you didn't get the blend. There are PLENTY of blends I miss myself. Do I go online and cry about it? No. Good grief. Now for the blend. I find it to be quite pleasant. It does get a little hot, but that could also be my tempo. Howver, the creaminess I get from it makes it really stand out. It has a lot of flavor in this blend. The room note is pleasant too. I enjoy walking out of the room and back in again as the aroma is very pleasing. What a great blend! I was lucky and just happened to be on the site when it was released. So I picked up some tins. And I am glad I did. This one will be great for storing long term.

Very nice smoking experience
When I first started smoking a pipe about 3 or 4 years ago, this is one of the first ones I took a stab at. And I really liked it-However, I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now. As time passed I slowly started developing my pallet for diffferent types of tobaccos, and this is one that I really enjoyed. I originally bought 5 tins (among several other over time) and worked my way through this. The orientals are really nice in this, and the Virginia's are top notch. So much so that I bought several more tins to age in late Nov. 2025. I roughly smoke 3-4 bowls a day. Morning, lunch time, after work, and before bed. This one is one that I really sit and relax while smoking. I would highly recommend.

What a nice VaPer
Doesn't bite, isn't hot and creates a nice enjoyable smoking expierence. Burns a long time as its a flake. Which falke in my book is the only way to go when buying tobacco. You can sit and enjoy it for a long time. The flavor is full, with grassy notes. It holds its burn with very, very few relights. Ut fills the room with a nice aroma and is very pleasing to come back into the room and enjoy. Really anything from G&H is top tier.

Excellent
I am so glad I was lucky enough to get 8 ounces of this stuff. Next time when it comes in I am planning on getting another 8 ounces. The flavor is really nice. I have smoked this probably 7x since I recieved this and its a very high quality set of tobaccos. The notes on this are very grassy and it has a nice room note. This is one that I will keep in my rotation for as long as I can.

Nice flavor
Bought about 16 ounces of this back in mid 2024 and must say it has rounded out well. The flavor is very lakeland, burns nicely, and has a nice kick. Overall, this is a nice smoke for special occasions imho and find myself enjoying it each and every time I light it wondering why I don't smoke this more often. It is a great addition to my collection and cellars very well.

Cornell & Diehl - Golden Days of Yore 2oz
One of my favorites
At first I was unimpressed. However, as I smoked it more and more, it actually became my favorite. Its got a nice nutty flavor to it. Its not heavy, and it burns really well. Though it is a ribbon cut. I ordered 10 cans about a month after I smoked the first tin, and I have to say I have smoked about 5 more tins throughout 2025. I plan on ordering another 10 tins come christmas. I really like this stuff.

Cornell & Diehl - Americana 2oz
Enjoyable
I have only had a few bowls, however, it has a nice room note as well at mouth note. Its enjoyable to light and smoke. Even burning, easy to keep lit, and generally well behaved. The tin note unsurprisingly is mostly Latakia but that's not a bad thing. It has a subltle sweet and earthy note. I am certainly glad to add this into my rotation. And as a side note. As a Graphic Designer of 30 years, I must say C&D have some absolutely amazing tin art. They really bring the tin and blend together in a high quality way. My hats off to the art department! And IMHO art tends to be underrated and overlooked, but it really is the tie that binds, a sale and an experience.

Cornell & Diehl - Firebird Flake 2oz
First Impressions
Man, I liked this from the first bowl. I have had a few bowls now, and the flavor is out of this world to me. I love the taste of tobacco though--without any flavorings. While this may have some casings or toppings (I do not know)--I do know that its a rich and flavorful pipe full. This will definitely be enjoyed while I have it!

F&K - Lancer Ready Rubbed
One of my top 5
Man, full flavor, burns evenly. The taste is amazing. While I only have a pound of this stuff, I am so glad I have it in my rotation.

G. L. Pease - Horizons Flake 2oz
I really like this
I won't say much, but after my first tin, I ended up buying about 8 more. It actually reminds me of The merry monk and it is smooth, creamy, and an over all flavorful experience. I don't know much, but I know what I like, and if you like a good non-aromatic that leaves you feeling satisfied... this one might be something you would like.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Bob's Chocolate Flake
Blown away
Rarely do I write reviews because honestly I don't feel qualified. I know what I like but who knows if YOU are going to like it. But here are things I can say for this tobacco. It has a really nice flavor. And I can taste the chocolate in it (even if it is just a hint), It is a very cool smoke for sure. No tongue bite for me at all. It has a nice not overly smoky and clean quality to it. There is a lot of flavor in this tobacco. It burns for a long time. I don't take any time to dry it, and it smoked great. It took a few lights to get it going, but once it was lit--it stayed lit. I bought 8 ounces and am sure glad I did. Though I must confess, there are very few tobaccos that I don't like. I usually have something good to say about every blend I have tried. That being said--because of that I don't really write reviews. But with this one I felt compelled to. If you are looking for a very enjoyable smoke that is topped just enough. You will like this blend.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Balkan Mixture
LOVE this blend
Man, I have had my share of Balkan blends and I have to say this one is one I keep coming back to. I this it has a much more pungent aroma that other ones I have had, and that is precisely why I am drawn to it so much. If you like more flavorful blends, then I think you might enjoy this one as I do.

Cornell & Diehl - Palmetto Balkan 8oz
Surprising favorite
I'm not new to pipe smoking---but maybe I am ...2 years. I ended up getting caught in the hype for this and bought 2 cans... And, I am so glad I did! I really like this flavor. And at the same time I bought 2 other Balkan blends and they are good too---but this one is smoother imho. Balkan blends are my new favorites and I hope they do this again next year.
