About This Pipe

White Elephant's Sahara and Cameroon lines showcase the Bavarian-based brand's modernist approach to pipe making, offering pipes that are fashioned from Central American ash wood and feature a novel innovation: a graphite chamber insert. Said insert promotes a flavor-neutral smoking and cuts down on excess moisture, all while being nearly impervious to burn out and easy to clean. The core difference between the two lines is the finish: the Sahara boasts a pale sandblast; the Cameron possesses an inky sandblast. This particular Billiard wears the Sahara line's finish.

Note: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.

I found that little bits of ash or tobacco particles would immediately show on the pale sandblasted Ash wood out of which the stummel is fashioned. This was easily rectified by brushing them out of the crevices with a bristle pipe cleaner. An unexpected bonus: the pipe came with a white elephant super mix filter already inserted in the tenon and a tin containing 10 white elephant meerschaum filters in the box. I wish the bowl were a slightly larger size, though...Read More
