About This Pipe
While Scottie Piersel is known for her signature pencil shank designs, she's no stranger to classic shapes, with this bent Billiard looking as if it was the archetype for an early 20th century English design. The tall, stout, deep-chambered bowl features a smooth, chamfered rim and a sweeping, extended heel and is paired to a sinuous S-curve, with its "swan neck" silhouette again resembling those seen in the 1920s era of pipe making. Comfortable in hand with plenty of room at the transition to drape a thumb, this piece wears the American artisan's iconic Relief Contrast finish, achieved by sanding down the sandblasted peaks and resulting in a dual-toned, rugged finish. Visually and texturally delightful, it's topped by the aforementioned mouthpiece of brindled vulcanite.
