About This Pipe
A fairly sleek take on the bent Dublin, this piece from Ryan Alden feels like a hybrid between Danish linework and Italian boldness, with its towering bowl, slight forward cant, and crisp ridgeline up front. At the rear, the line of shank and stem is as softly curved as any in the Danish school, flowing to the transition in a seamless, subtle ebb. It's been finished in a particularly crisp sandblast, as well, its underlying red hue giving the entire piece a warm and inviting feel. Neat work.
