About This Pipe
Micah Redmond's usual offerings tend to prioritize compact lengths and chubby proportions, making this lengthy and sinuous long-shank Apple something of an outlier within his portfolio. Up front, a squat, supple bowl stands atop a subtly lifted heel and grows trim walls that rise in an arcing taper to a taut, plateau-crowned rim. A wide transition follows the bowl and sees the start of a protracted shank that joins a demurely curved saddle stem of Bakelite. A boxwood band accents the junction and adds a pop of warmth to the composition, alongside the rich hues of the mouthpiece. The rest of the composition wears a crisp, inky sandblast that highlights rugged grain throughout the stummel.
