Micah Redmond has a way with Danish-inspired forms like this long shank Acorn. Specifically, he has a way of breathing fresh life into them, as he's done here. Though this piece is well on the larger end of his shaping spectrum, he's lent it a sense of pronounced energy, both in implied forward motion and the sense of contrast between finish and stemwork. It wears a rich reddish-brown sandblast, paired to a stem of creamy mint green bakelite, with a lime green ring accent of the stuff in the middle. Lovely stuff.
