About This Pipe
This particular set includes one of Tom's highly recognizable bamboo-shanked Pokers and one Eskimo, Tom's own unique variant of Sixten Ivarsson's famed Ukulele shape. The former is polished smooth, showcasing an extremely impressive cross-grain pattern running near dead center down the stummel, separating the walls of whirling birdseye along the flanks. The latter sports a partially sandblasted and darkly stained, wide, tapering shank — leaving the rim smooth and packed with even more birdseye. The two forms and finishes are aptly paired, matching the dark with the light, the tubular with the tapered, the smooth with the rugged — together making for one unforgettable composition. I guess even after 40 years of hard work, it's still good to be a pipe maker.
