As always, it's the details that make this piece. The bowl rim is softly rounded and reveals a perfect spattering of birdseye. The transition from bowl to shank, perhaps the most difficult area for any pipemaker, perfectly maintains the shape of the bowl and introduces the briar shank, which seamlessly evolves to bamboo. The stem subtly flares outward from the shank and steps down to the saddle configuration of the mouthpiece.
