Handmade Sandblasted Billiard with Horn (A) Tobacco Pipe

French artisan Bruno Nuttens boasts a delightfully varied portfolio that ranges from understated, serially-produced works of Anglo-French classicism to more expressive, often Danish-inspired pieces made entirely by hand. This Billiard is a good example of that style, presenting with a slightly robust build that enhances the presence of its bowl and shank. Both of these features are granted a good bit more thickness than in most strictly Anglo-French style Billiards, with this extra thickness at the shank being balanced by its comparatively short length. Said shank is actually extended a bit by a horn accent at the junction, drawing the eye to the aft without sacrificing the bowl's visual weight and keeping the shank proper rather trim. A sleekly tapering stem of black vulcanite pairs to the shank, its base a smaller diameter than that of the horn accent, creating even more visual intrigue at the aft side to appreciate. Up front, the bowl stands atop a rounded heel and grows thick, softly curvaceous walls that rise with an understated, arcing taper to the flat rim: leaving plenty of space to showcase the stummel's earthy sandblast.
