About This Pipe
Though not Chris Askwith's most exaggerated Castello "55"-like shape rendition, it's definitely not his most understated. In regards to the English carver's take on the shape, we've seen everything from technicolor-stemmed beauties to downright Hawkbill-esque iterations. Chris's choice of medium is well-suited to such a muscular one as this, being especially lightweight, and much lighter than it would be rendered in briar. It also helps to throw focus to the electric pink-hued acrylic stem, one that looks rather like the surface of a strawberry smoothie with whipped cream, after the majority of the cream is spooned out and begins to mix with the smoothie itself.
