About This Pipe
Easy of line yet firm in sense, Scott Thile's bent Bulldogs are easy enough to spot. They lift straight edges up front, flow with long curves out back, and in between meet bowl and shank with a transition of considerable depth, and even more breadth, anchoring the shape as a whole solidly. In this example, he's gone with a dark but warm finish over a light sandblast, providing both texture and timbre, followed by a stem of cumberland, the brindled pattern of which certainly works well with the shape's flowing nature.
