About This Pipe
With the immense popularity of the Hatfields & McCoys mini-series and the subsequent impact it's had on the pipe-smoking community, it's quite cool to see Missouri Meerschaum offering their own take on the famed Devil Anse shape. This handy Acorn, with its Cutty-esque forward cant, definitely evokes the look of that distinctive briar seen jutting from the lips of Kevin Costner as he portrayed "Devil Anse" Hatfield. Who says trying new blends can't be done with a little style?

Apart from the, if comfortable, incredibly fragile and flimsy mouthpiece and quality control issues, this pipe is pretty much perfect in every practical aspect, AND beautiful. Highly, highly recommended.

Not just for old codgers

me away is how well aromatic tobacco smokes from this cob: the goopiest blends burn nicely down to white ash, leaving no dottle and no wet residue (!).
The only detriment is the cheap plastic stem that easily takes bite marks, but since the pipe hangs from my mouth instead of sitting in hand, it's no eyesore and doesn't interfere with purely practical function. For a mere ten bucks, the bowl's dark stain makes up for it, dressy enough not to look cheap....Read More
