The Skater, a shape Penzo has revisited several times, is an angular design defined by a pointed Pickaxe-style heel, a flared bowl, and a dynamic silhouette. This iteration exemplifies those signature traits, its sense of motion evident throughout — the bowl tilts dramatically forward while the shank and stem rise sharply, striking a near-vertical posture. These opposing trajectories create a checkmark–like profile, drawing the eye to the V-shaped negative space above the transition, which reinforces the shape's acute angle. Penzo dresses the piece in a rich, harmonious palette, pairing an earthy sandblast with a rustic cumberland mouthpiece.
