Natural Sandblasted Billiard with Bamboo Tobacco Pipe

Emanuel de Queiroz Emiliano started smoking in seminary and was inspired by the pipes of his countrymen to begin carving his own, having since become one of Brazil's most accomplished artisans: drawing from a variety of styles to cultivate a unique, sophisticated portfolio. This Billiard is a sleek and svelte piece from Emiliano, one that's instantly evocative of the timeless Anglo-French style, though with an emphasis on compact overall dimensions. The transition is wide, and it gives way to an extremely short shank that tapers almost immediately to meet a comparatively lengthy stretch of bamboo. This bamboo comprises three knuckles of the dense grass, with divots in the material being continued through the shank and stem at both the right and left flank, respectively, to make for a more cohesive, organic composition. The junction is defined by a trim band of grey and beige brindled vulcanite, one cut from the same length of material that comprises the stem and creating continuous lines that striate the stem's easy taper to the button. The shank and stem feature an appreciable length, but the ample presence of bamboo keeps this pipe extremely light and well-suited to clenching or travel carry. Up front, the bowl stands on a rounded heel and supports slender walls that make an easy taper to the rim, concealing a respectable chamber and showcasing rippling ring grain beneath the stummel's crisp, natural sandblast.
