About This Pipe
An homage to the evolution of pipe making, Chacom's Maître Pipier series is among the marque's highest-tier offerings. Born out of the Chapuis-Comoy factory — among the first pipe factories in the world — the Chacom brand embodies France's pioneering influence on the pipe world, an influence that other makers and countries have expanded upon in the decades since briar pipes were first fashioned in Saint-Claude, France, in the 19th century. Danish pipe makers in particular have expanded upon France's pipe-making tradition, with Sixten Ivarsson introducing a new method of fashioning handmade pipes in the 1960s. Meaning "Master Pipe Maker" in French, Chacom's Maître Pipier series celebrates Danish pipe making with a singular shape inspired by the aesthetic of Danish pipes from the 1970s. It combines elements of the Rhodesian and bent Dublin, with a fluid, forward-urging gesture and an inflated rim above an accenting ridgeline — evoking the soft-lined and proportional balance endemic to Danish pipe making. Each piece is further adorning by a handsome boxwood accent, contrasting beautifully against this piece's smooth, natural finish.
-Truett SmithNote: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.
