About This Pipe

Given his appreciation for Poul Ilsted's work and his time with PS Studio, Alexander Tupitsyn often favors either compact, shapely designs or low-slung, dynamic silhouettes — perhaps more often merging the two together into something quite different indeed.

We see one such example here, setting a plump, curvaceous Apple bowl high along a low-slung transition, met with crisp, powerful lines along the triangular shank. Compared to PS Studios typical lineup, it's a fair bit longer, with a sweeping, arcing curve along the top of the shank making up most of that difference. It's designs like this that show Alexander's character and just how far he's come as a pipe maker and an artist. Well done. well done, indeed.
