About This Cigar
Red Anchor Cigars' history dates back to 1770 when a cigar shop was opened bearing the same name, and, two years later, the brand began producing their own line of smokes. These cigars were rolled in Holland, and they were primarily packaged in tins. For over a century, Red Anchor Cigars was a family business, though it was sold in the 1890s, finding wider distribution and a more expansive reach. In 1937 the company went out of business, though it was revived in 2022 by United Cigar and the Kellner Family, continuing a more than 200-year-long legacy. In its modern iteration, the Red Anchor cigar boasts an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 wrapper over a Dominican Monte Plata binder grown on the Kellner family's farm and a filler blend of Dominican San Vicente, Dominican Habano '92, and Pennsylvanian leaf. A medium-bodied smoke, Red Anchor boasts a complex flavor profile with notes of cocoa, espresso, leather, and cedar.
