Oliva's Serie V cigar consists of specially fermented Jalapa Valley ligero fillers from Nicaragua and a Nicaraguan binder, all wrapped in an Ecuadorian Sun Grown Habano leaf. In the Melanio version, named in honor of Melanio Oliva — the first of the Oliva family to grow tobacco — that Habano wrapper is usually traded for an Ecuadorian Sumatran, while maintaining the rich filler blend and binder, but here in Melanio Maduro version, the wrapper is of Mexican San Andrés leaf.
