About This Cigar

Named for Dunbarton founder Steve Saka's favorite wilderness lake, located on the border between New Hampshire and Maine and originating from the native Abenaki word for "shallow water," the Umbagog is a hearty and durable cigar, and Steve designed it with outdoor excursions in mind.

A Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper encases Nicaraguan fillers and binder, marking this hardworking cigar with flavors of earthy and spice. In Saka's own words, the Umbagog is "the perfect cigar for mowing the yard, hiking, four wheelin', and, of course, fishing," and it's constructed to hold up to such rigors thanks to its thick wrapper and easy-burning fillers. A workman's cigar, through and through, the Umbagog delivers consistent, delicious flavor even when put through the wringer.

The Umbagog Bronzeback was released in 2024, crafted as an homage to the classic Henry Clay brand of cigars seen between the 1980s and 1990s. The Bronzeback maintains the same blend as the original Umbagog, though its Broadleaf wrapper has been replaced in favor of a slightly different, "2LS" Broadleaf wrapper, the same as those used on the vintage Henry Clays the Bronzeback pays homage to. Available in a single 5 x 48 Rothschild vitola, the Bronzeback's updated wrapper offers a flavor profile with less sweetness and an enhanced pepper presence.

Product: Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Umbagog Bronzeback
Very smooth all throughout! Subtle sweetness, with savory taste of cream. Not a pepper bomb which I like - light on the palate. Decent burn until below the label (could be my humidity here) and great ash. Mild smoke, good any time of the day. Would pair great with latte.
