Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. continues the Carrillo family's Cuban cigar-making legacy, following in the footsteps of his father, who established a Cuban cigar factory in 1948 before later moving to Miami. Handmade in the Dominican Republic at the Carrillos' factory, the Casa Carrillo Encore Black features a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés binder, and fillers from Nicaragua's Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa regions. A successor to Casa Carrillo's 2018 Cigar of the Year, the Encore Black offers an elegantly complex flavor profile that sends the smoker on a journey as it burns, and it's now available in a 6" x 58 vitola called Bulwarks.
