This is my first vented tamper. I must say the holes really do help a lot by keeping the ash breathing, therefore keeping the cherry lit! I find it very effective to practice the “breath method” while tamping keeps my bowl lit without any issues, and saves me from a couple re-lights. It also really looks sharp.
