a great improvement. Opening the top turns on the flow of gas. The little post that shoots out the flame is stationary, unlike the Old Boy that moved up to emit gas upon lifting the cap and down when flipping the cap downward wise. The flint in this baby is changed by lifting a small cap and sliding back a sleeve. Then out with the old bit and place a new flint horizontally in the gap. All you need to do is let the sleeve slide back and it is ready for business. The Laurel works outside in the breeze and/or wind as well as any other butane lighter.
