War Horse - Bar 1.75oz
Blissful.
To be clear: I don’t taste licorice with this blend, but rather Clove/Herbs. The tin-note (to me) is offensive and repulsive. I almost didn’t even pack a bowl due to my harsh reaction to the smell of the blend, but, I’m glad to report the smoking experience in no way resembles the tin note. This blend smokes well, evenly, with no bite. The taste, is hard to describe. To me, it’s a beautiful Virgina blend with some Clove or Herbal top notes, I genuinely don’t know how to express it into words other than “blissful”. Give it a try, even if you don’t think you’ll like it, just do it. Such a beautifully unique and balanced blend, enigmatic, stoic, yet firm and resolute. Just a wonderful experience, and I’m SO glad I gave it a chance.

I’m perplexed by the reputation
This blend has SO MUCH hype and buzz surrounding it that I admit, I don’t get it. That being said, by no means do I hate it whatsoever, but I found it nearly flavorless with a very uninteresting room note, but I think that’s the point. 1-Q seems to be a semisweet generic tasting tobacco that’s aimed at pleasing those around you more than yourself, which is what you could say of “aromatics” as a category of course, but this blend specifically offered me almost no taste whatsoever. That being said it’s an easy light, even smoker, and offers absolutely nothing offensive or negative whatsoever. I can’t say anything bad, or good about it. Very strange! Not for me but I understand it’s place :)

VaPer GOAT, if you like spice.
10/10. Spicy, sweet, creamy, earthy, notes of grass and nuts. It tastes like spicy magic. Passing on this blend is doing yourself a disservice.
Cornell & Diehl - Buffalo Soldier 2oz
Blissfully full-flavored, underappreciated
I'm not sure why this blend has flown under the radar for me, but wow am I glad that I tried it. This may be the best Latakia-Perique I've tried to date. It's masterfully balanced, and an extremely pleasant all day smoke. The entire smoke rides on a low creamy and sweet note from the virginias, paired with exciting perique spikes of spicyness, and a blanket of savory smoky goodness from the latakia. This is comparable to C&D's Bayou Night, although I think this blend has more of a "mellow" vibe, versus Night's "funky adventure". My single gripe is that this isn't offered in a Flake, which is purely my preference. Try this!!!

Euphoric
I can hardly express my fondness for this blend. The moisture out of the tin is exactly what I want from a flake, 30mins drying time and it's ready to roll. The flavor on this mixture is bold, creamy, fresh, bitter, producing smoke so thick you can chew it. The room note is unparalleled IMO. I once tasted what I thought to be "Over-creamed coffee" and now it's cemented in my mind, and I taste it every time. BUTTERY, with a kiss of spice!
