Cornell & Diehl - Hoodoo Ridge 2oz
Complex and tasty
For everyone out there doesn't understand weird symbols let me tell you this is some excellent tobacco, more complex than a simple va per but not so complex as to be undecipherable… Thanks again Jeremy!
Cornell & Diehl - Lone Sentinel 2oz
First!
Jeremy, you did it again this is excellent stuff and the plug makes it all the better. Smooth and tasty it's a va per that might just become my morning go to with a cup of coffee. Now, if I could just ask a favor, could you press The Beast into plugs? That would balance out my world perfectly. Thanks again. This stuff is great!
Cornell & Diehl - Fires on the Levee 2oz
Mind Blown
Man, C&D does it again, this blend is excellent, I only wish I had bought more. Mind blown.
Cornell & Diehl - The Beast 2oz
Amazing blend
Man, this is a beautiful blend. I opened the tin smoked a bowl then another and another and another. I don't even know that I would want to cellar this stuff because it's just beautiful right out of the tin. As for the people whining about not being able to get it, try to pay attention. And as for the candy asses that are afraid of the name or the association with occultists, get over it you superstitious weirdos. This is an amazing blend, and if it was up to me, it would be available every day of the year. Thanks Jeremy Reeves sir!
Tabac de la Semois - Les Bouchons (Box of 10)
Far Out
Man, I have to stop ordering stuff while I'm drunk. But then again, maybe not. I usually get Semois in the brick form, but I thought why not and I'll tell you what these are pretty cool, although me being a cheap bastard I cut a few of them in half and put them in smaller pipe bowls and I didn't get that end of the cigar taste that other people have described. The ones I didn't cut in half I smoked out of a Paronelli churchwarden and it was amazing. I recommend these things, but I also recommend they sell them in boxes of 20 or 30!
Toscano - Maestro Puccini 2oz
An Excellent Smoke
Even though going back decades I've been known to tear apart Cuban cigars and mix them in with my pipe tobacco, the thought of smoking a pipe with the cigar sticking out of it has always seemed a bit goofy to me, but I trust the judgment of the people who make the pipes and god love 'em the people who smoke the Toscano cigars that way too, it's just never been my thing... however this tobacco is outstanding and when I opened it I grabbed my Paronelli albatross pipe, which is the closest thing I have to a Toscano cigar pipe, and this tobacco is a wonderful smoke with all the flavor you would expect, from the beautiful mild opener to the peppery finish. I think I need to order more, and quickly.
Kopp - Limited Edition: Ahoy (2025) 100g
Wild Aromatic
This one is a slow smoke for sure, trying to smoke it fast will definitely bite you. Once you figure out the pacing, it is a wildly interesting flavor and if it's an acquired taste it's one that I acquired very quickly.
Kopp - Limited Edition: Stormy South (2024) 50g
Very nice
reminiscent of Dannemans Sweet Mango which I have never seen outside of Germany and not much anywhere since the 1980's. Very nice, light aro, sweet but not too much so, and smoothing out over the course of the bowl. 👍🏽
Warped - Saint Espresso 2oz
Still my favorite
Man, year after year I can't wait for this to come out and it is still amazing. I love this stuff.
Warped - Saint Espresso 2oz
Trying This Again
I was told my review was too short and direct and not nearly wordy enough so... here we go into flights of pretense. The first most obvious thing I should point out is that this is not actual coffee, and therefore will never ever taste like actual coffee. What you have here is a blend of tobacco's that give an ephemeral sense of something similar to that brief crema on top of an espresso… you know, the oils that vanish after a minute. But never mistake tobacco for actual coffee. That would be weird. The cut of the tobacco is wonderful, as is the blend. Smoked slowly the tobacco is cool, and has those hints of some thing like coffee, but not coffee. It burns to a nice fine gray ash and it generally doesn't need much relighting. Some of the cigar leaf needs to be torn up, or balled up before loading into the pipe, but that's no big deal. This is such a subtle aromatic that I hesitate to even call it an aromatic, but the blend of tobaccos and the process they go through creates a unique flavor that can go all day. At one point when I ran out of Saint Espresso, I tried to re-create it in some fashion using C&D Espresso and John Cottons Creme, I just took the plug of John Cotton and smothered it in the C&D Espresso and closed the tin and let it sit for a while. Very quickly the plug took on and absorbed the espresso and it wasn't bad at all, definitely sweeter yet still easy to smoke, but there is no way in hell that it compares to Saint Espresso. Like I said before this stuff is great.
Warped - Saint Espresso 2oz
Excellent
First time around I bought six tins. Second time I bought more. Lots more. This is really great stuff.
Warped - Scarecrow 2oz
Sweet and Dandy
I would agree that this starts out pretty sweet, I feel like I’ve only smelled that smell right on opening the tin once before, and it was a cute dumb girl vomiting skittles. However after packing a bowl and smoking it down it really mellows into a nice smoke.
