my personal favorite of all SG/G&H rope offerings (that i've had the privilege of trying - still haven't tried the Aniseed Twist). Strength, Nic & Richness of the 'brown twist's. Lakeland is obvious in bag note indeed (akin to DF Aro, Coniston...). However, upon charring & true light; the Lakeland melds beautifully into the rich sweetness of the VA before long & remains obedient to it. Worth getting yourself a gram, pound or kilo. Bold & Hearty
this plug version is more refined compared to it's kindred flakes. i've adjusted my views on Coniston & DFAro flakes in lieu of this plug accordingly. though listed as non-scented, cannot deny the anise/liqorice flavor in taste - a huge pro for me. two false lights after 15min. dry time & it took to flame well, sliced & rubbed thin'ish. seems a degree or so less potent than the Dark Flakes in nic / closer to the level of Coniston. now my sit-down & sipping night capper.

Great Base!
tasty and well behaved for being more akin to shag than ribbon. (push it though & it'll get ashy on you). it's definately got the chocolate/vanilla notes, but in a safe & sane; subtle kinda way that shouldn't put off the non-ARO crowd. but ultimately, it's too light in body for my taste. thus, i added a 2oz. of can of C&D's DFK to 4oz. of this B&B = WOW!! serves me well as great base, which I hope to noodle-press some of soon; Lord willing.

BBF with unique topping just as described. Blackberry does demand the attention, but the high quality VA is the keeper. Grateful to have some on hand.

Melons
Melons topped onto their BBF Plug? Oh yes, what a treat! I love SG/GH Plugs & Flakes and this is rightly suited for the jar. I shaved off a small cube upon arrival & it was rather intense, but very tasty. I eagerly wait for a monthly check up. {{{UPDATE}}} after an ~8mo stint in the jar, this plug is really showing itself for the treat i new it would be. the topping is still quite prominent - however, melded with the BestBrownVA. halfway through the honeydew begins attenuating & the zestyness of the VA carries the concerto with mere echoes of the melon choir all the way to the final bow. preferred mediums in order are: briar > cobb > morta > meer

Beats out Coniston for me.
This has all the qualities Coniston has, but with a greater degree of boldness. Perhaps it's more straight forward & may lack some of the nuance that which Coniston brings, but for me; it thoroughly satisfies. Rich & robust all the way home. The topping is sublime & melds tastfully from light to finish! 4/5

This was my go-to after dinner smoke until I tried a puff of Dark Flake Aromatic. However, DF Aro nudged it out. I held back my review of this Coniston until I had an adequate appraisal of Dark Flake Aromatic. It is still very very a tasty, full-bodied & satisfying smoke, with a bit more nuance than DF Aro - 4/5 for me!

Un-Expectedly Tasty
I didn't have any expectation for this beyond it being just solid baccy from GH. I bought a few grams to merely reach their free shipping quota: wow! it's really good. tastes best (for me) out of a briar, (which brought out the ruminess). my meers & cobbs seemed to mute the sweetness of the blend. it's fairly moist and takes a few relights (rubbed out or not). now i'm curious if the tinned offering is any tastier?
