Kramer's - Blend for Cary Grant 50g
Another delicious Kramer’s blend!
I have been a big fan of Father Dempsey for years now. I wasn’t sure anything could come close or be as enjoyable to smoke. Then I finally got around to trying Cary Grant. WOW. Kramer’s knocks another one out of the park and lucky me, I’ve got another favorite. It lights easily and stays lit as you slowly sip away at it. A charring light, followed by a tamp, followed by one more light was all it needed after 20 minutes of drying time. Then it was only a few tamps for rest of the bowl and it burned down to a white ash. It left my bowl dry and damn near spotless. I love English Blends - mild, medium, strong, you name it, I love them. English aros are no exception and this Cary Grant is a perfect example of what I love in an English aro! Latakia wise, it’s pretty mild. Very all-day kind of smokable. By itself, without the aromatic, it would remind me somewhat of Presbyterian, another mild-medium favorite of mine. That’s a plus. That subtle aromatic though, is so interesting! I’ve gathered that it is cased with Irish Mist liqueur which sounded interesting, but that’s not what I got. I got a surprise. It was very subtle, but I was getting a delicious, mild hot cinnamon candy note on each sip and it lasted throughout the bowl. It was like the flavor of a stick of Big Red gum, but not at all overpowering. More like a nuance. I will definitely be adding more Cary Grant to the cellar, right next to Father Dempsey!
Presbyterian - Presbyterian 50g
First true love
Not only was this the first English blend I ever tried, it is and always be my favorite blend - period. I love it. What more can I say? If you’ve never tried Presbyterian, you owe it to yourself to crack open a tin and try it. There are fancier, stronger, and certainly trendier English mixtures out there, but this one is simply EXCELLENT.

Dunhill - London Mixture 50g
Textbook English Blend
Rich, bold, and smoky and yet still smooth English blend. I didn't exactly love it the first time I smoked it but it has grown on me. It is now part of my regular English rotation along with My Mixture 965 and Presbyterian. Its a textbook English blend. I definitely recommend it.
Davidoff - Danish Mixture 50g
Smooth...like ice cream!!
I love this blend. Probably my favorite aromatic right now for sure. Moisture content is tricky - upon opening, seems a bit dry but it can benefit from a bit of drying time before packing. Tin note and room note are subtle yet very pleasant. You definitely get the feeling that you are smoking high quality tobacco and not cheap, fruity drug store aromatic here. Lights pretty easy, stays lit, and produces a rich, creamy smoke. This brings me to the taste - subtle yet delicious. Vanilla, nuts, almost a creamy buttery aftertaste. Then it hit me....butter pecan ice cream!! Give it a try, I think you'll enjoy it.
