Over 12 Years Later...
I finally cracked open a tin of Fillmore dated January 14, 2013. After settling into the tin over the past few days, I am extremely impressed with the depth of flavor and the complexity of the blend. You probably don't have to age it for that long, but it's well worth aging.

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Small Batch Peaty Kentucky 1.75oz
Excellent
What a smoke! Well behaved, uniform coins that rub out/fold and stuff easily. Regardless of the actual blend, I would not describe this as a Kentucky blend: the Virginia's shine through very well, with the Kentucky in the background and on the finish. I just wish Erik would upgrade the packaging of this series to hold humidity better. Highly recommended.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kendal Gold
Creamy Virginia Shag
Well-behaved, straight virginia blend. Very creamy, lightly sweet, bready, light citrus. A nice any-time-of-day virginia. Light to moderate nicotine

Mac Baren - HH Pure Virginia 1.75oz
Stout Virginia
Surprisingly well-rounded and relatively strong. About a medium-full for nicotine and flavor strengths. Sweet aroma, baked-goods, sweet, and spicy on the palate. Great presentation. Highly recommend.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Black Twist Sliced
Beefy
While I do not have much experience with English twists, I found this blend to be "OK." Beefy, charred, slightly sweet notes. The flavor intensity, for me, was mild-medium, but the nicotine intensity was medium-full. As with anything from Lakeland, give it some drying time. While my comments are not illustrious, definitely give it a shot.

Awesome burley
Great, all-day burley flake: Medium nicotine, mild-medium flavor. Lovely saltiness, light chocolate, and earth notes - all natural awesome burley flavors. Really well-behaved flake.

Great creamy, sweet, spicy, smoke. As well behaved as can be.

Peter Stokkebye - PS402 Luxury Twist Flake
Consistent, Tasty Virginia
The presentation and aroma are excellent. The tobacco is easily rubbed-out or fold-and-stuffed. It delivers a mild sweetness, baked-goods, and vanilla notes, while being very well behaved. It is a great straight Virginia, which I would consider non-aromatic.

It's great to finally find a tobacco jar with a good capacity and at a reasonable price. I have several of these, all issue-free and attractive pieces.

A new Virginia favorite
This straight matured virginia ready-rubbed packs and burns beautifully, and exhibits no tongue bite. Enticing natural sweetness, light grass, baked-good notes, building creaminess, medium-bodied, exquisite room note... A new favorite!

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - 1982 Centennial Blend 1.4oz
Light Berry and Vanilla
The description says it all. Centennial Blend is a pleasant, mild aromatic cased with berry and vanilla. I have not had any tongue bite issues, and it does burn rather cool. I do appreciate the bits of flake in this blend, making for an attractive looking tobacco.

Peterson - Irish Cask 50g
A VaPer with some Sherry
Virginia/Perique forward. Good strength, lovely flavors--some bread notes, raisins, light spice. There is indeed a slight boozy-sweetness to it does a great job complimenting the natural tobacco flavors, but I would not go as far to say that it's an aromatic blend. Would absolutely recommend

Peterson - Irish Flake 50g
An enjoyable, full flake
Spicy, earthy, nutty, and very slightly sweet notes with a full mouthfeel and some measurable strength. A lovely blend with no noticeable casing

Wessex - Brigade Original Virginia 50g
Very nice, slightly aromatic Virginia
I really enjoy this blend--nice, bready Virginia with some tang and a nice, faint cider/apple note. Not too aromatic.

Cornell & Diehl - Derringer 2oz
Tasty Virginia
Mild, buttery, slightly sweet with bread notes. Very enjoyable.

Cornell & Diehl - We Three Kings 2oz
Interesting, light-medium Aromatic
Light to medium aromatic, probably needs more time in the tin. Creaminess, vanilla and very light baking spice notes. Medium strength towards bottom of bowl. Worth a try, but somewhat disappointing to my palate.
