Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Westmorland Slices
Another banger
Gawith Hogarth blends have always been my favorite at least a third if not more of my seller is all their blends. Some of my favorites are dark, plug, dark, flake, both unscented and aromatic and brown, flake, both unscented and aromatic along with pretty much all of their other flakes. I suppose this is the first time having Westminster slices and it does not disappoint. Kind of reminds me of a mix between brown and dark, flake unscented it’s another very clean tobacco. The flavor is that bold but still mild smoky dark fire taste somewhat meaty like barbecue as with dark plug and some of their other fine robes like Brown bogey, brown, Irish twist and black and I love that little bit of Lakeland if you like Gawith Hogarth products this is another one I recommend. The best flavors I got from any of their blends have been from bent billiard some pot shapes, and a couple meerschaum I have dedicated for only those dark fire barbecue meat flavors. Let me start off by saying when I first started smoking a pipe, I did what most do tried aromatics, I almost quit the same week until I discovered Virginia Virginia perique , English blends. I’ve smoked a pipe off and on for about 15 years only the last four years it’s been more of a lifestyle than a hobby so I started dabbling in aromatics again and I’ve had only a few that I like this is one of my favorites by far. You can still taste all of the Virginia’s when you sip it slowly you get the nutty and toffee caramel maple goodness. I often resort to this when I’m with some of my family and some of my friends that don’t particularly care for some of the blends that I smoke I smoked this at my son’s football games and occasionally when we’re some of his karate matches every time I spoke as I get at least five or six compliments and asking what I’m smoking. I really hate how people get on here and bash some of these blends mean if it’s not for you it’s not for you. Why did you even try it? If you know you’re not gonna like it did you do it just for something to talk about? I mean come on guys people that want real opinions come here to look and see what we think you can give you your review but don’t bash it grow up I’ve gotten blends that I really didn’t care for, but I give my review on it letting people know what I think of it what it taste like to me I don’t sit and cry about it. We’re all grown-ups on here. Act accordingly cheers.

Cornell & Diehl - Long Cut Perique
That perique funk goodness
I’m a big fan of perique I blend a good bit of my own favorites especially a good vaper and DFK vaper and one of my favorite quickies is taking straight Virginia and mixing this perique usually about a 75/25 mix or even a 70/30 depending on how I’m feeling and it’s always a mouth watering delicious tobacco. I’ve ordered the granulated before but it doesn’t compare to this. It’s amazing in English blends I’ve made even sometimes take autumn evening and ad a pinch to it for some added depth. Definitely the best perique iv had and iv ordered quite a few brands before finding this.

Look I know it’s part of the cellar series but it’s delicious fresh. I have a few with a couple years on them there good oldest is 6 I really like Virginia perique this is a stout 30 percent and is so smooth I can’t get enough of it

Cornell & Diehl - Mad Fiddler Flake 2oz
Hallelujah
I ordered this having high hopes and it didn't disappoint it actually was better than expected. The weird thing is I actually get some of the same notes as Carolina red flake which is a plus for me it's another favorite. I love how no particular tobacco is driving the bus so to speak you can easily pick out each one and they all mesh well together and complement one another. I have had best experience in a Peterson system 302 it's a perfect pipe for this. The notes of figs raisins dark and stone fruit are amazing. The cigar leaf pokes through more about half way through the bole and the cavendish compliments it perfectly the Virginia perique is tasty all the way through. I could easily smoke this every day I find myself picking it first pipe lately with my coffee. Definitely a gem and I only wish it was offered in the larger tins. Cheers everyone

Former - Private Flake 50g
Dam decent
This was my first dive into former product's and it wasn't bad at all I didn't think I was going to like it at first it was actually a mistake I thought I ordered cross grain flake but it's not an aromatic as it describes at least not to me it's pretty smooth no dry time needed it's pretty dry from the tin actually the honey notes I got and then the citrusy notes but it's not overwhelming it's a good clean tobacco burns nice tastes nice and I would buy it again and recommend it.

Falcon - Dublin Rusticated
Poor quality control
I ordered a falcon setup last month worked awesome. I ordered a new Dublin bowl and got it was happy now I can smoke my English blends and I packed it tried lighting it and barely a draw so I tightened it and it worked a little better not much so I looked and it's got longer thread ins and is too tall won't get good seal. Since it's been smoked already was told I could send it back for them to investigate it. I'm warning everyone make sure you screw it on and there are no air leaks because it's something you wouldn't notice until you get ready to smoke it. I’m not here to give one of those reviews and completely bash something. I really do love falcon pipes and I’ve never ever had a problem. I don’t know if it was just zero fu**$ given by the quality control team that day or whatever I’m just saying before you pack it and put flame to it put it together cap the top of the pipe and try drawing through it make sure there’s no leaks. I’m sorry if this offends anybody just my experience I am probably 12 different falcon pipes 32 some odd bowl shapes anything from bog oak meershaum Rosewood Olivewood never had a problem. Hopefully this was the only one.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Brown Flake Unscented
Just amazing
I would call myself a seasoned pipe smoker so I have had some crappy tobacco and some that flicks that eureka moment and this is one just some amazing looking flakes and when they get some age it's even better the plume they get on them is gorgeous. The taste to me is like coco part way through the bole it's like a good Virginia taste at first then molds into that dark fired taste and then takes on the coco like note. I like it on its own occasionally il mix a little bit of G&H dark plug with it and OMG it's just mouth watering goodness. I have both scented and unscented the Lakeland grows on you after a while but I always find myself ordering 3 time more of the unscented than the other.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Black Irish X
Oh my God!!!
I have all the G&H ropes im currently enjoying the black Irish xxx it's a lot easier to cut into coins being about a inch thick or more in some places. I have smoked it in cobs and straight Billard. Bent Billard and my savinelli 320 seem to be the two winners. I love the flavor it just pours from it only needs about 20 mins to dry for me. It's smokey and sweet like bbq the nic isn't as strong as brown bogie and extra sweet brown bogie. It's definitely a tobacco you sip on and take your time with. It's my favorite next to dark plug block. A few yrs of age it gets a beautiful sugar plume and is even more amazing.

McConnell - Scottish Flake 50g
Better
I was only had the original one time at a cigar and pipe club I frequent and I thought it had to much going on this is pretty dam good. The folded flake is one of my favorites this seems to have a little more dark fired and perique to it and I love them both. It's in my monthly rotation for sure along with folded flake.

G. L. Pease - Haddo's Delight 2oz
Hmmm
When I first opened it it was ok I love me some perique and that unsweetened Cavendish that c&d uses but long story short even just a few months of age greatly improved it for me I just revisited it a yr later and wow it's amazing. Tasted the best out of my bent Billard pipes and savinelli 673 and 114. Smaller pipes but the hell out of me.

Mac Baren - Navy Flake 16oz
Delicious
Mac Baron was one of the first tobacco's I tried when I first started smoking a pipe and navy flake is one of my favorites along with many of the other HH line and plum cake never had a problem jarring it unlike others it ages beautifully.

Cornell & Diehl - Cross-Eyed Cricket 2oz
Eureka
I'm a fairly new pipe smoker had my share of aromatics and burnt tongue and I'm starting to really like English blends and dark fired Kentucky blends. I do enjoy Latakia and the first blend that really made me go eureka you know when the bells and whistles go off in your head and wow this is dam good is cross eyed cricket oh my God I love this blend it's in my rotation for sure. I'm definitely stocking up on it.
