Dan Tobacco - Blue Note 50g
tasty and complex
this blend does burn a bit hotter. i am not sure it bites though. i can definitely feel the heat on my tongue, but it does not burn. lighting this is a delicate process, be very cautious of your flame position. keep it higher than you think. the flavor on this is stellar. the vanilla really leads the way here, but other than that the middle note is the flavor of these tobaccos. beneath that, i get an ever so slight bitterness, mixed with the slight spice of a bourbon. i bit above that is where the fruits come in. pear and blueberry is what i get here. this is a blend where you really want to take your time. tasting everything can be a very tedious challenge, but it is very worth it when you figure it out. i will definitely pull this out on special occasions.
Sutliff - Rum & Maple
a bottle of syrup
this is my favorite aromatic i smoke. it is a more complex tobacco than most aromatics, and the topping is just wonderful. the maple is very forward, a slight butteriness to it right behind. the rum flavor hits me on the side of the tongue. very far below there’s a slight fruitiness to it that makes this blend brighter than you would think. it is still a very night time blend in my opinion, but the very subtle fruit helps liven it up a bit. man i love this stuff
Cornell & Diehl - Epiphany
pretty okay
after about 3 smokes, i realized i really don’t like the meaty flavor of this. i think the smell is much better than what you’re actually getting. the room note is fantastic, and i’ve gotten compliments on it, but it straight up smells like a cigarette on your clothes. if you like meatier flavors and can get past the lingering smell, i think you’ll enjoy this. otherwise, it’s really just okay
