Old German Clay - Eagle's Talons with Stem
Crude, yet charming.
A clay casting with the flash knocked off. Light, with a decent sized bowl. Claws and stummel flare make for easy holding as the bowl heats up. Clenchs nicely. Great for sampling new tobaccos, or to have something different in your hand.
Rivertown Tobacco Works - Sunset Velvet
Summer smoke
In a reverse calabash meerschaum. This showed up rather dry, probably because the incompents of the USPS managed to ship it via Las Vegas. (I'm in Missouri) I like Dr Pepper. It does indeed have that tin odor. Lit easy, burned well. Subtle taste of cherries and vanilla over a base note of sweet Virginia, carried by the cream smoke of Cavendish. No bite, light nicotine. As I like it, I'm a light aromatic smoker. I see myself with this on the family fish pond dock with a glass of tea. I think it will be even better with a bit more moisture, will jar it with a small humidifier.
Missouri Meerschaum - Ozark Mountain Straight (6mm)
Just a good pipe
I think of all the Briars and Meers I've owned over the years, and I think I'd have been just as happy and a bit more financially sound if I'd simply rotated a few of these. Extra half star reflects the price.
Rivertown Tobacco Works - Custard Conspiracy
Smooth, cool and creamy
With a light touch of vanilla. Great evening smoke with a dark beer.
