Cornell & Diehl - From Beyond 2oz
From Beyond
I got this tin yesterday, but I had to try it right off the bat. I loaded my Peterson with this tobacco and let it sit in the pipe for about 45 min before smoking. Upon lighting this bowl I got a nice cloud of thick creamy smoke. I also got I want to say a nice peppery note. (Mind you my pallet is not very refined). I find that with most of the tobacco that I have a nice sipping and a slowish cadence is very nice on the pallet. I however did get a nice mesquite note upon relight, but only then. I personally think that with aging this tobacco will be even better. It is a very English tobacco, or at least that is what I am getting from the blend of Latakia, Oriental, and the other players in the mix. I only wish that I had more room for several more tins.

Cornell & Diehl - Crooked Lane 2oz
Crooked Lane- Awesome Blend
To start off, I bought this blend at a Brick and Mortar shop, I bought it yesterday, and loaded up a bowl to smoke, but it was a little to cold for me to stand or sit outside of the hotel I was in. But, waited until I got home to sit and enjoy this new blend of mine. On opening of the tin you get the Latakia, and the oriental. The actual smoking was what I found to be a nice smoke, the taste for me was what an English should be. I also had a nice slow cadence, sipping this English whilst enjoying an early afternoon Guinness. I was smoking it out of my meerschaum pipe, the smoke was not thick but it was also not to thin, there was zero mouth burn, I would attribute that to having the cadence that I had. Would I buy this again?? Definitely, but it will have to wait, as I have a lot of other C&D tobacco’s to smoke.

Cornell & Diehl - Nutty Irishman 2oz
Nutty Irishman
What can I say about this blend/ offering from C&D? Well to start off with, I will say that this is probably one of my favorite blends, whether I am smoking it from one of my Italian or my Irish pipe, I fully enjoy this blend. I think that the only pipe that I have not used with this is my Meershaum. But, I digress, the last time that I smoked this blend, as soon as I lit it up, my wife asked if the tobacco was cookie flavored, I was like nope this is the Nutty Irishman. I will be keeping this in my rotation. As a matter of fact I have already refilled this.

Cornell & Diehl - Da Vinci 2oz
Da Vinci
I ordered this, and recieved it very quickly, and last night I decided to sit down and try a bowl. I will say that this tobacco is awesome, from the first light to the last puff. I enjoyed the flavor of the Latakia and the Va. I think that the Burley added for a nice thick smoke, and on the retrohale you could really get that flavor that you would expect from C&D. Since it was Di Vinci, I decided to smoke it out of my Savinelli. I can only assume that the longer that it sits in the tin the better it will become... If that is posible.

Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
Great Smoke!!
To start off, I did not buy this tin from SmokingPipes, but from a B&M while out on a work trip. I bought this from the recomondation from the Tabaconist, I will admit that I was a little leary at first, but then I opened the tin and got the cinnamon, maple, bourbon and I think vanilla. I only came back to pipes a short time ago, this is my 5th or 6th tin from Cornell & Diehl, and I have not been totally disapointed accept for one. But I digress Autumn Evening reminds me of the Autumnal Evenings that I used to experience in New England.

Cornell & Diehl - U.S.S. Mason 2oz
Awesome smoke
Trying this for the first time, and wow the burly is there, and it doesn’t burn the tongue, I will definitely be trying the other tobacco’s that are in this line up, I think Buffalo Soldier will be next for me.

Cornell & Diehl - Chocolate Cavendish 2oz
Not very much chocolate
Just got this in today, so I had a bowl in my Meershaum pipe, from first light to the last puff, I was sipping the bowl to ensure that I didn’t get it very hot. I only got a very little chocolate but not what I was expecting. The tobacco is dry.ish, so it burned well. Maybe it will get better as it ages, at least I hope it will. But I will try it again to see if it was just me.

Cornell & Diehl - Pirate Kake 2oz
First taste
This is my first Kake, the first word that cane to me was interesting, in a good way, I can only imagine that it is going to get better with time, creamy, leathery, and just plain good. I may have to keep this one on rotation.

Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop 2oz
Wow
I just received this and decided it give it a shot straight out of the mail. My first impression is that it seemed a little dry, but it’s not, so I loaded a bowl (little to tight) and the impression I got was cigarette ashy, and a kick of nicotine. Then I let it go out and loosened the packing and that made a world of difference. It does have that peppery note that others have mentioned, but I also get some raisin, and something else but I can’t put my finger on it.However, I like stronger tobaccos. Now, I am enjoying it with a nice scotch on the back porch. Looking forward to letting it age and trying it then. Sitting on the porch with a pipe and a nice scotch. I apologize if I didn’t describe this very well, I normally smoke cigars, I have only smoked a pipe for about a month or so, normally I smoke both aromatic and regular tobacco. But I digress I am enjoying this using a Ser Jacopo pipe.
