Rattray's - Red Rapparee 50g
Robust but tasty
This is only my second English blend I've tried, so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but this blend smells and tastes great. Seems to burn cool. I look forward to trying this in cooler weather because it's almost too strong for my taste in warm weather. This tobacco is very robust and can be overwhelming to your senses (in taste and in nic) if you aren't prepared for it.

Great container for a day out!
This is so much more convenient than throwing a ziplock bag or a jar full of tobacco in your pocket/bag for a day out and about. Whether you're hiking or just going on a nice drive but don't need more than a few bowls of tobacco, this is tough enough to hold up to being tossed around and it seals great. Plus they just look cool. Only complaint I have is that the plastic part of the container could be hard to get ahold of if you have a hard time with dexterity because there's not much to grab.

Very relaxing smoke
This is my first plug tobacco, and I have been very impressed with it. The tin note is very pleasant, nothing super strong. I sliced it thin and rubbed it out, and it seems to burn well like that. This smoke is very relaxing and enjoyable. There's depth and complexity to it if you go searching for it, but it's also not distracting if you're trying to smoke while paying attention to something else (reading a book, etc.). This makes it a great companion for any circumstance.

Cornell & Diehl - Bijou 2oz
More punch than I expected
Let me start off by saying I'm very much a beginner to pipe smoking, but I definitely imagine this going up in quality with age. I have had a few bowls fresh, and the flavor is good if you can give it your attention and really dissect it. With the right cadence, there is definitely some sweetness. I immediately noticed what I believe to be the orientals, and for my first experience with them I was surprised at the slight tartness that came with them in this blend. The strength is definitely noticeable, especially as a beginner. It hit me fast and I had to pause on one bowl to avoid taking the nic hit too far. Definitely respect the strength and sip slowly. Overall, I look forward to coming back to this with some age on it and a further refined palate.
