McConnell - Scottish Flake 50g
2 yr. Old - New Favorite
I received a tin that was already 2 years old (how lucky), and let it sit for another month while I finished off some other tobacco. Maybe its the age, but this is my first Dark Fruit style VaBur/VaPer and it has rocketed to my no.1 tobacco. I am still new and trying different ones, but I am immediately looking for similar ones and more of this! So much so, I emailed Smokingpipes.com and Kopp to find out why it's so hard to get. This will be an immediate purchase multiple tins and cellar deep for me and I just absolutely love the smell, taste, burn. Everything. I intend to try other McConnell tins but this one will be an all timer for me.

First Virginia - New Everyday Smoke
This tobacco is a must try. Especially for those that are newer to pipe smoking. I read and heard that this tobacco is a bridge between an aromatic and a Virginia and I agree after smoking through almost 1oz of it. I plan to purchase more and could see this being in a regular rotation. I get a butterscotch, caramel type topping and played around with different methods between fold and stuff, rubbing out, different pipes, different aeration and feel like this is best smoked with about 5 to 10 minutes of aeration and I personally prefer a full rub out. It is a must smoke. If you havent bought it, just try and oz and tell me it hasnt become a regular daily driver. Sweet, fragrant, smooth.

Great light English
I am a new pipe smoker and have been trying everything I can get my hands on. My first stab at an English was a local B&M blend that was much more latakia heavy and I was uncertain about my thoughts. Fast forward to my time with Chelsea Morning. I wanted to take my time with this as I was uncertain if I was going to like English blends at all. Well, after 4 bowls of Chelsea Morning I can understand why the industry refers to Pease as "The Dark Lord". This stuff is excellent with a Morning cup of coffee, is a great first entry to "flake like" tobacco with the broken flake style; burns cool, moisture content perfect out of the tin, provides enough complexity for a new Pipe smoker to try their hand at and has just never disappointed at any time of day. The only reason this isnt a 5 is because I have only tried 2 English blends and believe I should give others a shot before I give it the absolute top rating. In any case, I am confident this will end up being in my regular rotation and has made me add so many other Pease blends to my rotation.

Disappointing, even for a new Pipe Smoker
I went to my local B&M after Erik came and visited. They had put a lot of his tobaccos in a bulk container and had it on special. As a new pipe smoker they recommended 1982. I have tried 8 different tobaccos - house blend and branded tins. This one has been by far the most disappointing. It never seems to burn right, the taste is just hot air, even for an aromatic and I will never purchase this again. Compared to Autumn Evening - this is just. Well. Poor.

Best Aromatic I have Smoked
I am relatively new to pipe smoking, but I have smoked mostly aromatics. Local shop blends, 4th Gen 1982, etc... This has got to be the best Tin note, best smelling post smoke smell on my person, best room note and best burning aromatic I have smoked to date. I havent written any reviews for any other tobacco but this one just deserved it. I understand why its so popular. Needs a bit of aeration before packing, but simply great. Push it too hard there will be small tonque bite but why would you want too? Slow sip this and just taste the maple flavour or maple pancakes for the whole bowl. 5/5
