Mac Baren - Virginia Flake 1.75oz
Very Good
Another straight forward good Virginia. Nice with sweet tea.

Capstan - Flake Blue 1.75oz
Good Virginia
One of my favorites

Capstan - Flake Yellow 1.75oz
Top Tier Virginia!
Great tobacco. Too bad it is discontinued. Picked up a good stash of this to hold back. Capstan Blue is great too. I love going between the two and each has their place.

St. Bruno - Flake 1.75oz
Very Unique Experience
First try at this one this evening in my cheapy corn cob pipe I purchased at my local Smoker Friendly here in town. I have a high end briar and multiple MM corn cob pipes but wanted a new unused pipe to try this in without smoking my MM cob pipes that are dedicated to Virginia, Vapers, and English blends. Even out of a cheap cob pipe this stuff tastes awesome! Even with a Feb 2026 date. Definitely will be picking up more tins to cellar back. I will get a MM cob pipes to dedicate specifically to this blend. It’s sweet, sour, floral and has a uniqueness I can’t pinpoint as well. What a joy pipe smoking has been on my shared journey with cigars. Cigars have taken a backseat this point in time and I’m loving the pipe tobacco. While my neighbors are lighting fireworks this Saturday I’m lighting my pipes! Side note, KYBURLEY please point to the doll where Trump hurt you. Another one suffering with TDS. My prayers are with you.

Fribourg & Treyer - Cut Blended Plug 50g
Smoking Nirvana
Rarely do I smoke a tobacco that hits all the marks. But this one does it. Slow draws letting the smoke out through your mouth and nose in front of your face and absorbing the taste and flavors it disperses in your mouth. A good nicotine hit as well. You truly get lost in a good way in this tobacco. Smoking it in my MM Country Gentleman. An amazing Virginia. Haven’t smoked a Fribourg & Treyer blend I don’t like. This one is a must try.

Fribourg & Treyer - Cut Virginia Plug 50g
Great Virginia
A very tasty Virginia but hard to find at times. Smokes nice and I like everything about it. No complaints on my behalf. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Fribourg & Treyer - Special Brown Flake 50g
Great Virginia!
I’m enjoying this stuff. It has a sweet taste on the retrohale. Very nice

Wessex - Gold Brick Virginia Plug 100g
First Wessex Smoke
This is the first Wessex smoke I’ve had this afternoon and it was the Gold Brick Virginia plug. I’ll preface that this is a new brick and not sure the date of made. So this doesn’t have age on it. I sliced with a Havalon hunting knife and it worked well. I rubbed out the flake and loaded into my Patriot MM cob pipe. From the smoke I get a hay/earthly notes along with a citrus orange taste. There is something else there too but I can’t pinpoint it. Almost a light peppery smokiness about it but I like it. This isn’t very complex but yet not super plain smoke either. Well balanced, and I’m sure that with some age this will get better and round things out. It’s a winner Virginia for me.

Cornell & Diehl - Eight State Burley 2oz
My new go to for this porch piper
Can’t get enough of this one. A nirvana smoke. It really is amazing how all the flavors come full circle. After about a 1/4 way down the bowl the creaminess and sweetness opens up then continues to entangle the flavors all the way to the bottom of the bowl. Too bad the stuff is difficult to get ahold of when released but now I see why it is.

Cornell & Diehl - Steamworks 2oz
Steamworks well in my pipe
No complaints on my behalf with this blend. Smokes cool, stays lit, and mighty tasty smoke. Really impressed to say the least. Easily 5 stars for me. Can’t get enough of it.

Seattle Pipe Club - Hogshead 2oz
Superb to me
Not sure why the ratings are all over the place. This is a great smoke. Smooth and sweet in the retro. Enjoyed it.

Three Nuns - Three Nuns 1.75oz
Big Wow Factor
Had my first bowl of Three Nuns and I must say I’m impressed. Burned completely to white ash and flavor all the way to the bottom of bowl. I bought two tins but I will be getting more.

Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding 2oz
First impressions
First smoke of Plum Pudding for me. I really enjoy the flavor. Nice smokey flavor especially on the retrohale. Great evening smoke. A few relights but to be fair I didn’t let it dry out for long. Glad I grabbed a few tins, and glad C&D picked it up. Now I must try and grab Hogshead when it comes back in stock.

Rattray's - Hal O' The Wynd 50g
My 1st Review on Smoking Pipes
My 1st review on smoking pipes as a new pipe smoker. I have dove head first into getting an assortment of blends. I’ve tried a few but I must say Hal O’ The Wynd gets my first tip of the hat to this amazing tobacco. I can’t describe the notes exactly how I’m tasting them but my taste buds love it. Sipping on my pipe and allowing the retrohale flavors take over. I want to be a pipe smoker forever after trying this. I have small batch Firebird loaded in my other pipe after this smoke but what else is there to say about Rattray’s tobacco here. An easy 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ from me! Also a shout out to Anthony at smoking pipes. I spoke with him for 45min to an hour today on the phone and a class act. He answered all my questions as I’m trying to gain as much knowledge as possible on pipe tobacco. This place makes you feel welcomed and it needs to be noticed and mentioned from time to time. Thanks Anthony!
