Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Fathers, Friends & Fire Batch 002 Virginia Perique Flake 2oz
A delicious VaPur
Tin note is a 5. I wish they had air freshener in this scent. Burn is a 5 it's as cool as an autumn night. Flavor is a 5, it's full of dark fruit, raisin, sweet citrus, slight spice all which showcase the great virginias it contains. No doubt the St. JAMES perique is complementing this blend perfectly. Consistency is a 5. Throughout the smoke the flavors are always present in varying degrees right to the bottom of the bowl, but since the flavor varies in different degrees the smoke is never boring. Additionally the retrohale always adds a new dimension to the flavor accenting the perique. Finally the tobacco smokes dry even when I'm enjoying it too much and puffing a bit too quickly. I hope anyone reading this review discounts it as overly flattering because then they won't buy it and more will be left for me.

Cornell & Diehl - We Three Kings 2oz
Flavor profile exactly as Represented
I'm primarily a Virginia / VaPer smoker, rarely do I smoke or enjoy aromatics. So for those whose preference is similar to mine and enjoy an aromatic as a change up, get this one. The moisture is perfect, the red Virginia are there complimented by the spice ( from either the oriental leaf or allspice (not sure which but who cares because it's great as a compliment to the Virginia). The smoke does not bite, it has a great flavor to the bottom of the bowel with enough complexity to it as you smoke to the bottom to remain flavorable without developing harshness towards the bottom. This blend does capture the feel and taste of the Christmas holidays but can also be smoke throughout the year. I smoked this one in a Meer with a smaller bowel, not sure how the Virginia's would react to larger bowels as far as heat building from more air hitting the tobacco expected from larger bowels. Shane Ireland's review was dead spot right in his assessment of this tobacco.

Not exactly Capstan Blue but real close
The 5 star and 4 star reviews already given already given say it all. I see a slight difference between this virginia and Capstan but for the price difference I can't say which I prefer. This virginia perhaps is a bit more citrus slightly more orange peel in flavor but slightly less sweet notes than Capstan Blue. This virginia takes more effort to keep lit but relights don't bother me if the taste is great and this flake has the great taste of a top quality virginia. Maybe I should give it a 5 star it's a close call. But all this said I love it and for the price it is hard to beat: I will be buying more for sure.

Cornell & Diehl - Bluegrass 2oz
Fantastic Cornell & Diehl Bluegrass
My taste preference includes VaPers and straight virginia, mostly, and some English with an occasional light aromatics thrown in. This tobacco, Bluegrass is truly a wonderfully unique and delicious experience. It presents flavors of sweet full body barbeque flavors with none of the tobacco components dominating the flavor; thus its perfectly balanced, as well. It did not bite and smoked relatively cool using a moderate sipping of the smoke technique; which most virginias respond favorably to. I smoked this tobacco in both an author and brandy shaped 6m pipe, without a filter, which is my pipe size and shape preference. Bluegrass is a great smoke and one I think you will enjoy.
