Cornell & Diehl - Pegasus 2oz
Finally!
I’ve been trying various burleys looking for the bliss die hard burley smokers are always going on about. I had yet to find one that really spoke(smoked) to me. Then I climbed on to the Pegasus. It’s deep, warm, & satisfying with the flavor of nuts & cocoa. The hint of the VA’s is just beautiful & adds that touch of sweetness to balance everything out. If you were like me, & just didn’t get burley, give Pegasus a try.

My go to
I bought this blend when I first started smoking pipes. The bourbon & vanilla were what drew me in as I was smoking mainly aros. This has since become my everyday smoke while on the go. The toppings are fairly light & don’t get in the way of the tobacco. The VA’s do the heavy lifting & the Turkish & perique weave nicely together to give it some depth. The bourbon & vanilla start off strong, but quickly move to the back seat as the bowl burns down. The black cav keeps everything cool & the burley gives it some bass notes. Mild nic hit. I typically buy it in bulk, but got a tin to age just to compare in a few years. I’m hesitant to leave such a good review because I don’t want this blend to get so popular it gets hard to find!

Crazy good!
I picked this blend up when I first started smoking a pipe, to try something non aro & expand my horizons. I totally struck gold. It’s everything you could want in a blend. Rich, full, complex, & long lasting. Since then I’ve tried several other English blends by C & D & other brands. I had some I’ve liked as much, but not a one I’ve liked better. At least, anything still in production! This one is hard for me to cellar, as I reach for it often.

  • ► As a resident of New Orleans, I see a lot of products using the name of our city in vain. That is not the case with this line of tobaccos. I'm working my way through the collection & all the ones I’ve tried have been great! JDV is my favorite blend, ever. I’ve tried it fresh & with 5-10 years of age. While there’s a considerable difference between the new & aged, it is outstanding either way. It stays in my cellar & I never want to be without it.
