Mac Baren - Mixture Scottish Blend 3.5oz
Hit That Bag Pipe
Been smoking the pipe for over 24 years, Mac Baren is pure tobacco leaf and is always lightly cased with whatever they use and with this blend lightly topped but other than that pure leaf heaven, the only reason this bites people as I have said in other reviews is because people puff this like a locomotive and you cannot do that with certain pipe tobacco blends, the art of pipe smoking is a must when smoking this fine, smooth and robust blend that does not bite, I would compare this to a gun lol it's not the gun it is the user always the user lol couldn't help myself anyway, with the right pipe smoker this will never bite and one will taste the hidden gems this has to offer, burn it to hot and it will punish you for not loving on it the right way got it!!??!!?? So hit that bag pipe, easy does it, calm, slow, chill, cool, relaxed, and you to will sing it's praise's, learning to properly smoke the tobacco pipe will unlock so many flavor's that honestly most pipe smoker's miss out on, I know this because I was once one of those smokers, Mac Baren bite's and there stuff is hot and yucky, when a few years down the road I revisited there tobacco lines and boy howdy am I glad that I did. The whole point to Mac Baren products is to taste the tobacco not the casings or heavy toppings or flavored PG that makes the tobacco shine in a kinda funky way, catch what I am saying here lol!!! I am sad to see this go but I grabbed a few more tins to cellar so I'm grateful for that. Not a huge C&D fan but the same rule of smoking would apply for there style of tobacco blends as well, mixture is wonderful and I am sad to see it go, be blessed all my pipe smoking peeps.

Mac Baren - HH Balkan Blend 16oz
Top Dog Wonderful
HH Balkan is my favorite pipe tobacco blend above all other pipe tobaccos, I have many that I truly love but this is the one I call Balkan all the way, it is the tobacco they use and the quality is pure and straight forward with nothing added to it whatsoever. The art used to creating this is what only Mac Baren can pull off (RIP MB) and they do, understanding how this blend is made and the process is what I respect the most from this epic tobacco and the balance of flavor is just on point for me, the only reason people are bitten by Mac Barens tobaccos is the fact that they puff like a locomotive not taking the time needed to enjoy this fine blend as with any blend in general, the art of pipe smoking is a must for HH Balkan, when I started smoking the pipe I used to say Mac Baren bites and I do not care for there tobaccos until a few years later I began to revisit Mac Baren and now a loyal smoker of there tobaccos, well at least now from what I have left from them in the cellar, had to grab one last pound to age. This is some of the best tobacco you can ever smoke in the world and nothing compares to HH Balkan. If you find that your being bitten often by pure tobacco leaf mixture's slow it the heck down, if your in a rush choose another style of tobacco but like a fine cigar you must not be in a rush, relax sit back and savor the smoke one small puff at a time, it's not tea so the sip it term nah not for me but calm cool and collective works for me. The heat can and will destroy some of those hidden gems hiding inside the leaf and keeping it cool will always deliver a wonderful smoke and with no bite whatsoever.

Sutliff - Match 20
Epic Blend
Match 20 is a wonderful blend and very well done, it is close to 965 but really needs no help standing on it's very own, I would actually compare this more to PS Proper English than 965, the quality of the tobaccos is very good and Sutliff does not skimp out on that, the balance of the latakia is not over done but like garlic you just can't have to much and the cavendish rounds this blend to a subtle sweet taste with no harsh tones or rough edge's, this fine blend ages beautifully, I truly enjoy match 20 more than (Dunhill)Petersons 965, not that 965 is a bad blend because it is not but Match 20 just did a epic job at rounding it out and bringing it in with that hint of sweetness, I would encourage anyone that is curious about sampling a smokey, smooth and sweet tasting tobacco with a texture that does not bite. Mind you I am a young pipe smoker 47 years old but been enjoying the pipe for over 28 years and have smoked some of the finest tobacco's from around the world and Match 20 is right there, Pesse Canoe Latakia Flake 20, Robert Lewis 123 Mixture, PS306, Samuel Gawith Skiff Mixture I can go on but this give's you a idea of what I enjoy and Match 20 is right there. Sutliff really made a masterpiece here and I can smoke this all day all the time no problem, thanks for taking the time to read this fellow pipe smokers!!!

Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired Ready Rubbed
Sweet Fig Fire
If you like figs with just a hint of smoke then here you go, the Virginia's shine well in this blend and robust earth and body Luke a cigar thanks to the burley. The Kentucky fire is right on the money and married well with the entire blend. Almost takes me to a maduro leaf taste at times but never over powering, this is a smooth smoke and won't bite it is very polite. One of my top 5 blends to smoke and truly enjoy.

Arango - Balkan Supreme
Epic Blend
The thought that went into this blend and the effort was well worth the outcome of a wonderful Balkan blend. This is rounded and on point for taste, smooth, sweet and smokey. There are many Balkans to enjoy and this is in the top 5 for me, not sure about the comparison to another classic Balkan no longer produced, this blend stands alone in taste and quality. Buy a few ounces today and enjoy with a alcohol beverage or better yet a nice hot cup of coffee, cheers!!!
