Cornell & Diehl - Strathspey 2oz
Cigar smokers: don't be afraid of "english"
Coming to pipe smoking from cigar smoking, I assumed "english" meant strong/harsh and "aromatic" meant easy smoking/gentle. This blend disabused me of that misconception and there's no going back. The smoky and peppery bits don't hurt the throat the way a similarly styled cigar would, to the contrary--the lack of (or very modest) topping just makes for easy control of flavor, smoke, heat, and mouth feel. I'm relatively new to pipe smoking, but for my fellow rolled leaf friends, this is where it's at. 12/10.

Sutliff - Burma Road
Former cigar smoker
This blend gets better and better the more you smoke it. For a killer homebrew blend, mix this 50/50 with strathspey. Pipe smoking is fundamentally different than cigar smoking. I thought aromatic meant more gentle, but in reality it just means more gurgle and throat burn. This is just right: flavor, room note and burn. Easy to meter the nicotine and oh so pleasant all the way to the heel. Stocking up now.
