Cornell & Diehl - Skyward Gate 2oz
a Virginia Tobacco for a Virginian
I hand cut this plug into thin cut flakes. Hand cutting it adds to the experience of the smoke. It is an excellent smoke, has bready, grassy, and sweet notes. You can taste the different strands of Va tobacco. This is one of the best straight Virginia blends that I've tried. C&D has done it again with a well made blend. Get yourself a tin of this stuff, you won't be disappointed.
Molina - Americano Sandblasted (A126)
Bought it a local pipe shop
A good Italian pipe for the price. Very sturdy, feels good in the clench, smokes very well. If you're looking for an Italian pipe on budget these pipe are best option.
Two Friends - English Chocolate 2oz
Coffee and Chocolate
One of my first blends of 2 friends and also my first English Aromatic. Not too bad of smoke. You definitely taste the Latakia in this blend, adding depth and body. The Va adds that sweet with a slight bready taste. Both of these tobaccos are blended perfectly together to create this dark sweet blend. This blend is perfect to cellar too let it mellow out. I suggest getting a tin of this.
Peterson - Nightcap 50g
Cool night smoke by a fire
Perfect fall nigh time smoke sitting by a fire and under a blanket. It's not to strong with nicotine but you can feel it. Va, Latakia, Perique and the Orientals are blended masterfully together. The Perique isn't heavy, it compliments the blend with a slight touch of spice. The Virginia gives it some depth and sweetness. Latakia and the Orientals gives it body and rounds out the flavors. The smoke isn't harsh, it has notes of toasted bread, very faint pepper taste (from the Perique), and that Va just puts some sweetness and citrus notes into it. Definitely an excellent blend for any smoker new or experienced.
Cornell & Diehl - Apricots and Cream 2oz
Sweet and pleasant
I have a few tins of this blend, this is a great starter aromatic blend for new pipe smokers. But also this is a great blend for any pipe smokers in general. Very easy smoke, not a nicotine bomb, and it tastes like pie in my opinion. Get yourself a tin of this stuff, you can't go wrong with it.
Missouri Meerschaum - Cornell & Diehl Carolina Gent
Summer Stubby
This my go to pipe during the summer months when I'm outside mowing yards or just outside in general. Big bowl for your favorite tobacco, thick cob walls, and a straight short bit. It's a beast of a pipe that can take a beating from hard work, a pipe that you take anywhere. Perfect outdoor pipe for the beginner smoker and long time smoker.
Warped - Saint Espresso 2oz
Merry Christmas
This is a late review of this blend. I bought two tins of this, I'm saving the other one for next Christmas. Fresh out of the tin the smell of black coffee is very forward, with notes of vanilla and cream. When smoked you taste the cigar leaf on the back end of it. Black Cavendish adds the sweetness to this blend and that's where the cream notes come from. I highly recommend this for you Christmas rotation.
Cornell & Diehl - Nutty Irishman 2oz
Four Leaf Clovers and Guinness
This transports you to Ireland when you smoke this Va and Burley. The taste is bready and sweet, with notes of toast and chocolate. A good dessert smoke with a pint of Guinness.
Cornell & Diehl - Briar Fox 2oz
Strong and robust
Virginia and Burley are evenly tasted in Briar Fox, nothing is overpowered. Burley adds body and depth, Virginia adds complexity and sweetness. Perfect fall smoke on a front porch with a stiff drink.
Cornell & Diehl - Blockade Runner 2oz
Running the Blockade
I am a massive fan of Virginia blends. This was one of my first cake tobaccos that I've tried, it smokes very well. You can taste the rum in this blend. It has a bready, faint citrus, and sweet notes. It doesn't taste like an aromatic or an English, this is something that can't be described unless it's smoked. This is one of those blends to smoke around a fire on a dark fall or winter night.
Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
A Virginia for a Virginian
Very fragrant blend of straight Virginia leaf. I live in Southwest Va, which is steeped in tobacco production. Very sweet with bready and faint citrus notes. It's smooth and relaxing smoke. Definitely one to smoke out of a Corn Cob pipes. Just your everyday smoke.
Cornell & Diehl - Afternoon Delight 2oz
Date night smoke
I just bought a tin of this, an excellent blend. You can taste every type of tobacco in this blend. I'm a big fan of Virginia, Dark Fired Kentucky, and Orientals blends. It's a pleasant smoke, smooth, bready notes, with a sweet finish with the Black Cavendish. I smoked this around a girl that I'm talking to, and she liked the smell of it. It's a good after dinner date smoke.
Peterson - Sunset Breeze 50g
Very Refreshing
This is an excellent smoke for a summer day. Smells amazing out of the tin. Smokes smooth and the smoke smells sweet and pleasant. Another Peterson blend that nails it. Peterson is in a class of their own with pipes and tobacco. This is an excellent aromatic tobacco to start out with.
Peterson - Early Morning Pipe 50g
Pipe and Coffee
This is a pleasant smooth tasting pipe tobacco. Consisting of Virginia's bright and reds, Orientals, and a little bit of Latakia. All of these tobacco's create the perfect tobacco to start your day off right. Not too strong with nicotine, and tongue bite is non existent. Great for the morning to relax before going to work or while driving to work.
Missouri Meerschaum - Missouri Pride Bent (6mm)
Great workhorse
This is me second MMC Corn Cob Pipe. Smokes very well, light weight, and can take a beating. If you are looking for a pipe MMC is your best bet.
Missouri Meerschaum - Legend Rob Roy Bent (6mm)
My first Missouri Meerschaum
My first MM pipe to ever smoke and very affordable. It smokes very clean and smooth. Makes for the perfect outdoor pipe to smoke while working, or just your everyday pipe. If you're looking for an affordable pipe, a Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe is your best choice.
Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - 1931 Flake 3.5oz
Excellent flake
This 4th Generation Flake is my first time trying this brand and blend of tobacco. It's an excellent smooth smoke. Not too strong with nicotine. Has that natural Virginia sweetness, the Burley and Black Cavendish round out the blend. This one of the finer tobacco's that I have smoked, this will be another brand to add to my rotation. 4th Generation 1931 is an excellent choice for your first fine tobacco smoking experience.
Peterson - Sweet Killarney 50g
Irish Cream
This has a very nice smell right when you open the tin and also as you smoke it as well. It's a very smooth smoke. The nicotine content is just right for this blend. The Virginia's give it a natural sweetness to it and the Black Cavendish rounds out that sweetness. If you smoke in the morning or during the day this is an excellent choice
Captain Black - Gold 1.5oz
Budget starter tobacco
Just like Royal, this an excellent starting point in any new pipe smokers journey to finding the blends they like to smoke.
Captain Black - Royal 1.5oz
budget starter tobacco
When I first started to smoke a pipe this was my very first tobacco purchase and the first one that I packed into my pipe. It's good budget tobacco made by a classic and well known company. If you are just starting your pipe smoking journey this a good starting point in that journey.
Peterson - Irish Flake 50g
Not for the faint of heart or an empty stomach
This is an amazing flake and smoke. Make sure you eat and drink something before, during, or after you smoke yourself some Irish Flake. It's good but it's a tobacco for the experienced smoker not for a new pipe smoker. Smoke at you're own risk.
Peterson - Sherlock Holmes 50g
Detective Holmes in a can
For those who love mysteries, true crime, etc. and smoke a pipe. This is one you should try. Full of Virginia and Burley tobacco's, gives this blend a natural sweet taste. Personally this my first mainly Virginia blend tobacco and I find it enjoyable. This a good tobacco if you just started smoking a pipe or have been smoking for a while. Who knows Sherlock himself could have smoked this while solving mysteries.
Peterson - Irish Whiskey 50g
Enjoyable and Sharable
I hared this blend with a one of my coworkers that also smokes a pipe. He and I really enjoyed it. This blend isn't too strong in the nicotine content. Very sweet and smooth smoke. Pleasant smell out of the tin and smoking out of the pipe. This is a very good starter tobacco for a new smoker or experienced smoked. One of my go to blends of tobacco and also my coworkers go to blend also. Get yourself a tin of this stuff.
