Rivertown Tobacco Works - Sunrise Select

I got a free sample of this with a bulk order of something else. When I first got it I thought it was light and not much to it. It has been a few months now that it has been sitting in a jar and this stuff has transformed. The flavors seem to get much more intense over time and I am loving it. My fiancé does not like the room note on this one at all it’s definitely got a more cigarette smell even though I do feel the room note has changed in a good way as well over time. However taste wise I get honey, lemon, green tea, grass, and dark fruits after a good retrohale. Highly recommend and will be getting some to age in the future.

Rubber or Pipe Tobacco?
I have been smoking this blend on and off over the months trying to see if it would be a good substitute for Sutliff 504c or EastFarthing. It’s not. It’s ok. It is sweet, you get some latakia throughout the smoke randomly, there is a very chemically vanilla like cheap frosting from the tubs. I would say it’s a baby step up in more complex flavors than Captain Black Original. Today I realized though that the taste and smell remind me of a car dealership. It’s that not burnt rubber, but new rubber smell when you walk in. Now that I have noticed it, it’s all I can taste. I have now relabeled this “Dealership” so when I feel like I want to suck on some rubber this is the blend I will choose. 2.5 - Worth a try if you are new or like tasting rubber. No judgment if you do. I think there are just better blends and this falls below average for the tobaccos I have explored.

Easy Every Day Tobacco
Im not sure what all I can say to describe how great this blend is. This is mild so if you like strong natural tobacco tastes or strong latakia it doesn’t have those components. However, the lightness is what I love about it, it’s more complex than a codgers blend by far, but not so much so that it’s distracting or overwhelming. I think of it like sipping a nice glass of sweet tea, but not that sweet. The latakia shows up complimenting the other flavors and if you drink black coffee with this it will bring out the coffee flavor of your coffee. Longer into the smoke the nuttiness comes out and its delicious. The smell is sweet and intoxicating, like the smell of the crumb of something sweet that is baking. It smells like your favorite tobacco shop and it’s comforting. It it not bulk eastfarthing, it’s very similar, but on the nose for the tin note east farthing has almost a chocolate note compared to this blend. But it you love east farthing this will do in its place. This blend in my opinion is also far better than Lane HGL. I really hope this one gets saved by STG and tinned up.
