AJ Fernandez - Last Call Habano Pequena
Smooth
Without sufficient rest, the opening draws were dominated by intense spice and pepper notes. After settling, the cigar quickly developed into a smooth and elegant profile, with a rich creamy texture filling the palate, accompanied by delicate floral notes. The Ecuador Habano Rosado wrapper brings refinement and sweetness, while the Nicaraguan filler adds depth and character. A very smooth and enjoyable small-format cigar with excellent balance.
Alec Bradley - Black Market Churchill
Disappointing
A cigar I would not revisit. Unbalanced, underwhelming, and not worth the experience.
Liga Privada - T52 Belicoso
Decent
A bold and complex smoke with rich notes of dark earth, espresso, leather, and spice. The T52 offers excellent depth, a dense texture, and a well-structured progression with controlled strength. However, I don’t think the Belicoso is the ideal vitola for this blend. The Flying Pig format showcases the T52 much better, delivering a more balanced and complete experience. A powerful yet refined cigar with outstanding craftsmanship.
Padron - 1964 Anniversary Series Natural Exclusivo
A great first
A memorable cigar from my early days of exploring cigars. The Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Natural Exclusivo impressed me with its balance, smoothness, and refined tobacco character. It delivers a rich yet approachable profile with notes of cedar, nuts, coffee, and subtle sweetness. While my palate has evolved over time, this cigar remains a benchmark of consistency and craftsmanship. A classic Nicaraguan cigar that represents a great introduction to premium cigars.
ADVentura - Blue Eyed Jack's Revenge Corona
Underwhelming
A mild and approachable smoke with a smooth creamy profile. The cigar delivers a gentle experience with noticeable creamy texture and subtle nutty notes as the highlights of the profile. However, bitterness begins to appear in the middle to final third, affecting the overall balance and enjoyment. While easy to smoke and well-mannered, it lacks the development and consistency needed to become a memorable cigar. Not a bad smoke, but not one I would reach for again.
Curivari - Reserva Limitada Classica Monarcas
Elegant Complexity
A smooth and elegant smoke with impressive balance. The cigar offers a refined profile of creamy coffee, delicate bean-like sweetness, and subtle white floral notes, with a gentle Cuban-style character in the background. The complexity is well integrated, showing a softer and more elegant side compared to many Nicaraguan cigars. However, the final third becomes slightly one-dimensional, lacking some of the development and excitement found earlier in the smoke. An easy-going yet sophisticated cigar with excellent drinkability.
Aganorsa Leaf - Guardian Of The Farm Cerberus Robusto
Difficult To Handle
Complex and flavorful, with great depth and character. The Corojo 2012 wrapper delivers a rich profile of spice, earth, roasted coffee, cocoa, and natural tobacco sweetness, showcasing the distinctive character of Aganorsa leaf. However, the nicotine strength is simply too aggressive. By the middle of the cigar, the intensity becomes difficult to handle and starts to overpower the flavor experience. A well-crafted smoke with excellent tobacco quality, but the strength makes it a challenging cigar to fully enjoy.
Caldwell Cigar Company - Crafted & Curated Long Live The Queen Forbidden Fruit Claro
Solid
Balanced and elegant smoke. The Claro wrapper delivers a creamy profile with cedar, nuts, subtle sweetness and a touch of spice. Medium-bodied with good transitions, more about complexity and refinement than raw strength. A very Caldwell-style cigar — unconventional, aromatic, and worth smoking slowly.
