Sutliff - Troost Match
Just Like I Remember!
60 years ago, I used to buy Troost for my Grampa and then eventually for myself. I still remember the smooth soft flavor and gentle smoke. Best were the coupons you could collect and then mail in to get all kinds of blue and white ceramic pottery from tobacco jars, ashtrays and pipes, Ahhhh the memories!

Its a Mixer!!
This is the tobacco I have been waiting for! I like to experiment with different blends that one would not normally consider compatible. More often then not, I end up with a nice smoke but nothing to write home about. Until now. so far I've not found anything that a 50/50 mix of a blend plus this Sambuca doesn't turn into something special! I'm planning on buying by the pound from now on!

Codger Country: Half and Half
  • ► Grampa and dad both smoked H & H alternating with Prince Albert which was mostly for work and Half & Half was for fishing and marathon backyard beer tasting. I think I remember gramps complaining that the H & H was 2 cents more expensive. Dad used a cob and grampa had a briar that I can only describe as a "chimney ". I carry on the tradition by usually reaching for one of my Missouri Merchaums.
