Lane Limited - Hazelnut
Where has it gone?
I was smoking C&D Nutty Irishman and they were temporarily out of stock. I tried the Lane Limited Hazelnut and found I preferred it over the Nutty Irishman. The hazelnut flavor was present, slightly sweet, smooth and totally enjoyable. I've been waiting months to see its return, would love to order more. Any idea when this will be available again?

Cornell & Diehl - Nutty Irishman
Excellent Aromatic
This is an excellent blend, bursting with flavor but not overpowering. The smell out of the bag is intoxicating and the smoke is just as enjoyable. The sweetness is up front, caramelized nuts, with hints of coco, coffee and cream. From the first light to the end of the bowl the flavor remained consistent. A wonderful smoke for the entire day, but my favorite time is in the morning with my first cup of coffee. This will be at the top of my list when re-ordering.

Peter Stokkebye - PS301 Natural Dutch Cavendish
Nothing Special
I would have preferred a bit more virginia and a bit less of the burley. I found this blend to have too much bite. The flavor was straight forward, tobacco. I did not find any hints of sweetness, floral, tea or citrus. Glad I tried it but doubt I will re-order.

Sutliff - 10 Natural Cavendish
Average
The flavor is OK but nothing exceptional. As far as Cavendish blends go, I was hoping for something smoother. The cognac added is just about perfect, noticeable but not over powering. I would have preferred a little more virginia and a bit less burley. For my taste there was too much of a bite developing about halfway through the bowl. Glad I tried it, but probably not going to re-order.

Sutliff - Balkan S Original Mix Match
Please don't go away
I recently ran out of Balkan S Original and tried to re-order but could not find it on the Smoking Pipes menu. Pulling it up off of my order profile it stated that they are temporarily out of stock. So why doesn't it show on the menu? Please don't go the way of Old Professor. Like Sasieni, this blend contains Macedonian leaf. Sasieni and Balkan S Original are the only blends I have found with Macedonian. Balkan S Original is a wonderful blend with a rich, complex, delightful smoke. The sweetness of the Virginia, smokey Latakia are enhanced with the nutty Macedonian creating an exceptional blend I love and hope to see it available sometime soon.

Sutliff - 150 Mark Twain
Nice Danish Cavendish
I generally favor English or Balkan blends, but there are times I need a break. Mark Twain offers me a respite from Turkish and Latakia. The category shown by Smoking Pipes for this blend is Aromatic but it seems light, if not void of toppings. I would classify it as a Danish Cavendish. There is a sweetness that I find pleasant, not overboard or sticky. The Virginia and Burley combination gives a nice balance but the star of this mix is the Black Cavendish. The smoke is easy, smooth and tantalizing. This blend has been in my rotation for years and I see no reason it won't continue.

Sutliff - 526 - Old Professor
OMG it's gone
This was one of my favorites. I really like Presbyterian and happened to stumble onto Old Professor in bulk. What a great substitute at half the cost. Dear Sutliff, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring this blend back!

Presbyterian - Presbyterian 50g
Top shelf blend
This is one of my favorite English blends. Full flavored heaven in a tin. Too bad it is not available in bulk. With so many English/Balkan blends offered in bulk it is hard to justify paying double the price. I highly recommend Presbyterian for it's flavor and enjoy getting this as a gift but probably would not purchase it myself with all the other options out there.

Sutliff - Balkan II
Smooth and pleasing
I like to grade blends on their own rather than comparing them against another. When I am looking for a lighter blend of Balkan, this is where I go. This blend is so smooth and pleasing. It satisfies my taste buds on so many levels without being overwhelming. You may not agree with the "5" rating, but on those occasions when I'm looking for something lighter, with a complex flavor, this is the obvious choice. A permanent addition to my rotation.

Arango - Balkan Supreme
Bold and exciting
This is an exceptional blended Balkan with a kick. The proportions of Virginia, Latakia, Orientals and Black Cavendish are perfect. When I want a bold Balkan or just a wake up call, this is my choice. Pairs wonderfully with a nice single malt scotch. This is one that will always be in my rotation.

Cornell & Diehl - Star of the East
Smokey Goodness
This was the first English blend I tried and it got me hooked. I do not like to say one blend is better than another due to the subtle differences that appeal to me at different times. When craving Latakia, this is the go to favorite. Nice and smokey, always smooth and satisfying. This one will always be in my rotation.
