Peppered bread!
Its taken me a while to understand virinias. But I think im finally there. If you smoke this slow and low, it will reward you! I finally understand what people are talking about when they talk about "bready notes" and boy does this have them. It tastes like a nice slice of fresh sourdough, with a good peppering on it! Absolutely delicious. This is the first vaper I tried that made me understand why anyone smokes VaPers. It is absolutely delicious if you take your time with it. Highly recommend. The perique is there in just the right amount, in my opinion. The virginia isnt sweet, but nice and bready. If that sounds like something you would enjoy, this is your stuff. It was also good right out of the tin. No harshness at all. Very smooth.

Cornell & Diehl - Burley Flake #4 2oz
Good stuff
Its been a while since I've written a review. The fact that this stuff was good enough for me to change that, says something. My tin had been sitting around for about a year before I cracked it open, so that may effect my experience differently than a fresh tin. Either way, moisture content was perfect. It took me a while to come around to Burley. But now that I have, im trying different blends, and I honestly can't think of what to compare this to. All I can say is it's smooth, light, and delicious. The latakia was just lightly there in the background, enough to smooth it out. Ive come to realize I like red virginia and latakia together, so if you do too, I definitely recommend giving this stuff a try. Nice work on this one C&D.

If you love Dark Fired, definitely give this a try!
I struggle with burely. I like my English blends, especially of the Balkan variety. When I first tried Burley blends, I absolutely hated them. Now I am so-so on them. I dont love them, but I dont hate them either. With the exception of Kentucky Dark Fired blends. I LOVE Peterson Irish Flake. Along with Mac Baren bold Kentucky, and Old Dark Fired. Well, as many of us know, two of those blends are no longer with us. If you are looking for something to fill that void, I definitely think Jacknife is worth your consideration. I will be cellaring as much of this stuff as I can, along with irish flake. You never know how long a good blend will be around. And as far as I know those are the only two Kentucky forward blends that are still around now that Mac Barens blends are no longer produced. Give it a shot and see what you think.

Cornell & Diehl - Sunset Harbor Flake 2oz
Made my cellaring list
I don't cellar many tobaccos. I am in the lengthy process of trying out different tobaccos, and finding the occasional rare blend I think is worth cellaring. A blend I want to make sure I have until I die. This is the newest addition to that list. I absolutely love this stuff. Hearty, yet smooth. A very delicious Balkan blend! Here is a list of the blends I currently cellar so you can see if your taste matches mine. If you like these blends, then I highly recommend giving Sunset Harbor a try! Chelsea Morning, Quiet Nights, Arango Balkan Supreme, Abingdon, Hearth & Home Larry's Blend, and now Sunset Harbor.

Arango - Balkan Supreme
The best of the best.
Balkans are my absolute favorite blend. I haven't tried every Balkan there is, but certainly many. Arango Balkan supreme is by far my favorite! With GL Pease Abingdon as a close second. Or maybe Hearth & Home Larry's blend. If you like Balkans, or want to give them a try, don't pass this stuff up! I hope to God they never stop making it. But I'm cellaring the heck outta this stuff just incase. I don't ever want to be without it.

Cornell & Diehl - Super Balkan 2oz
If you like Balkan & Burley get this!
I'm a lover of Balkan blends, and so-so on Burley blends. I tend to only like Burley when it's mixed with a little dark fired. That being said, on the Balkan side, this stuff awesome. If you like Burley & Balkan, this may be the ticket for you! I'm not the biggest Burley guy, so I don't know if I'll be picking up another tin of this stuff. But I have to give it a good rating anyway, because it is exactly what it says it is, a balkan and Burley blend. And it combines the two very well. C&D nailed it with this stuff.

G. L. Pease - Abingdon 2oz
Absolutely amazing!
Abingdon is tied with Balkan Supreme as my absolute favorite Balkan blends. I'm a Balkan lover, and have tried every Balkan I can get my hands on. The amount of Oriental spice and Latakia smokiness here is absolute perfection. Standard English blends are genuinely more Latakia forward. Balkan style English blends generally more Oriental forward, which give you that delicious spice I love so much. But with Abingdon, the Latakia & orientals seems to be in perfect tandem with one-another. I've tried a lot of Balkan blends, and most don't hold a candle to Abingdon in my opinion. If you like Balkans, or are curious about them, pick up a tin of this stuff!
