Tampers & Tools - Laguiole Calumet Pipe Tool - Briar
Worth the Wait
I waited over a year for this tool to be back in stock. It's expensive but I've spent as much on quality folding knives. Well, the wait ended and I can say that I am more than impressed with the function and form of this tool. The materials and craftsmanship are top-tier and it has become my go to pipe accessory.
Cornell & Diehl - From Beyond 2oz
Mellow amd Complex
The aged latakia in this blend is great. It reminds me of the Pesse Canoe Latakia. It floral, woodsy in a mellow way. I opened the tin and thought it would be a lat bomb, however, on first light I was intrigued by the mellow presentation of the Latakias. Further down the bowl, the oriental and virginias became more prominent but the latakias continued to tickle the senses in waves of soft woody smoke. The perique is there but mostly condimental and smoooothe on the retrohale. This blend is an awesome twist on an english and an Excellent smoke! Grab some while you can.
Savinelli - Juno 2oz
Hidden Gem?
Savinelli's Juno is an excellent surprise. I would vins8der it a hidden gem for Virginia lovers. The flake are chunky but bereakdown easily if that's your bag. The moisture is good but I like to dry this one for 20 mims or so. Lights well, burns well, and the flavors are consistent down the last puffs. This one is sweet bread all the way, which i love. My tin was relatively fresh so I know this will age well. Enjoy..
Lighters - Savinelli Sasso Lighter
Worth the Money
This lighter is very nice. Solid construction and it holds lots of fuel. The flame adjustment is easy and funtions very well. It's effectively a girthier Old Boy but still comfortable in the pocket. It's hand filling and, imo, making it less prone to dropping. Made in Japan, so it's a quality item.
Two Friends - English Chocolate 2oz
Mellow Smoke
The Latakia in this plays nicely with the cocoa. It's a great blend to enjoy with a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy the flavorful but not overpowering interplay. The moisture was good but I did let it dry for 20 mins. Behaves well in the bowl with does not require too many re lights. It's just a mellow relaxing treat of a smoke.
Erinmore - Erinmore Flake 50g
Nice experience
I finally tried this blend after procrastinating for many years. Glad I did. The plum topping is subtle but present leading to an enjoyable experience to be savored slowly, like most worthwhile blends. It's a good blend for those who don't usually smoke aromatics. It's bold and just slightly sweetned. Nicotine is med/high. I will keep this in my rotation.
