Way back in the 1980s, I would get the TinderBox's cherry almond pipe tobacco. But after my 1st purchase of Captain Black CHERRY, I never looked back. I just love everything about this blend... the room note, tin note, flavor... for me, it's just absolutely perfect.

CB Dark is a relaxing smoke
I've been smoking Captain Black DARK for years. I love it. It's such a relaxing smoke. Never bites. Smokes cool. The tin note is nice and mellow. The room note is nostalgic. The flavor is subtly smooth. It's right up there with the GOLD.

My Favorite By Far
Captain Black GOLD is by far my favorite pipe tobacco. Oh don't get me wrong, I enjoy many different blends, from the robust English and Lakeland blends, to the American boutique blends. But absolutely nothing puts me in a good mood like Captain Black GOLD. And I've been enjoying the briar since the late 1970s, so I think that's long enough to have pretty well figured out what I like. Wouldn't you think? The tub note is great, as is the room note; and the flavor is just the right amount of perfect.
