Peter Stokkebye - PS303 Peaches & Creme
Great aromatic, not heavily topped.
The jar note I get is unsweetened peach tea, I get a very slight hint of creme or cream, or whatever the F it's called.. Upon first light, and until about halfway through the bowl, I taste mainly tobacco with a hint of vanilla and peach. As I get further into the bowl, the peach becomes more apparent and the vanilla fades away. I don't get tongue bite from this blend at all (or with any blend honestly). As with any tobacco, I let it sit until it is dry enough to smoke without creating a hot vapor. I also take extra time to ensure my bowls are packed properly. I've found improperly drying and packing are the main factors in tongue bite... I digress. The room note reminds me of peach yogurt, plain and simple. I have dedicated pipes for different aromatic blends; I figure this probably plays into a purer smoking experience.
Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding Special Reserve 2oz
Copenhagen Long
I’ll preface by saying: my first taste of tobacco was a can of Copenhagen long cut. I purchased two, 2oz tins of this special reserve. To my surprise, the instant I peeled the tin lid back, I was hit with the same intense smell akin to that first can of dip. Salty, slightly sweet, VERY slightly sweet. I was worried that Cope long cut smell would translate into the smoking experience. It did not. This has quickly become one of my favorite smokes. There isn’t much of a flavor to my palate other than tobacco. There is more of a texture, however. Smooth, creamy, easy to enjoy. Will be purchasing more to age.
Captain Black - Cherry 1.5oz
Car Scent Cherry
The first thing I noticed when I opened my shipment was the heavy synthetic cherry smell. Don’t get me wrong, it smells fantastic (I happen to like that scent); however there isn’t much taste. Even slow sips yield little to no cherry note on the palate. The room note is delightful, a mix of decent quality tobacco and car cherry scent. To me, the smell is nicer than Cult Blood Moon, as I do not like the vanilla note, but the flavor isn’t quite as refined. For the price it is hard to beat.
