About

A long time ago I recall Adam Davidson mentioning that one of the best tools he'd ever found for giving cake a quick trim was, of all things, a modified and well-sharpened oyster knife. Well, that is in essence what you're looking at here with the Low Country Reamer: a good amount of handle for control and leverage, a stiff, double-sided, slightly tapered, stainless steel blade with chisel-ground edges (sharpened by us), and a tip that has been given a slight curve for catching buildup right at the bottom of a pipe's chamber while preventing scratching the walls.

Total length: 7" / 178mm
Blade length: 3" / 76mm
Blade width (at base): 0.6" / 15mm

Product: Tampers & Tools Low Country Reamer
As another reviewer states both edges need to have the burrs removed with a whet stone. After doing this I reamed all my pipes! Couldn’t believe how much carbon came off in a black powder; use over a sink!
Very easy to use, allows for complete control of pressure & depth and works very well for
any bowl including Falcons & cobs! This is what I’ve been looking for! Great find!!...Read More

It came with a burr on both edges that necessitated me dressing it down and putting an edge on it. Reamers don't need to be razor sharp, but they do need to be smooth on the edges.
Love it. I use it all the time now.

I have a lot of different reamers and knives. The multi piece reamer with a T handle and this one handles just about every bowl out there. Tempted to get two just in case. Lol.
Low quality metal, many better reamers out there.

All reviews are 2 years and it only recently became available again so I thought a new review was called for. Very low quality stainless-steel used for the knife. You must have a knife sharpener (and know how to use it) if you buy this product. It goes dull after a couple of uses, to the point where you can physically feel the blade edge bent backwards. So far I've had it for a couple months and use it for "just quite reach that spot" cases. Otherwise it would be too much of a pain as it would require sharpening every couple uses and of course this means the longevity of the tool is low. S&P probably had to outsource the job of creating these and whoever they chose did a terrible job. I have reamers that are 40 years old that retain an edge better than this....Read More
